It was used just like every other TV show and movie to place the point in the story line.

I can hope that Lori is not as full-retard as Kate in LOST and bounce around loving everyone.

The opening scene was one of the scariest moments I've seen on television.

the spin with the Vatos was just amazing...didn't expect it to go that way AT ALL, and they pulled it off well

Such a brilliant series...I hope they don't screw up the second season

Obviously, a different genre and flavor...but, this is hands-down the best series I've seen since Firefly.

Absolutely love everything so far.

Yeah, I generally don't like those kinds of movies, but I do like this series. The makeup work on the zombies is amazing, and so are the special effects, especially when the zombie ripped away a piece of that girl's throat in the last episode.

Well they have almost a full year to get it right. Second season won't be until October 2011, from what I've read.

I keep falling asleep during this show, and I dont mean figuratively. I dont watch TV much, however Sundays I watch Boardwalk Empire, Top Gear USA and than Walking Dead. By the time I get to this show, I literally pass out 20 minutes in. Did I mention I have insomnia?

Anyway, I'm going to have to dl last weeks to catch up since oddly I dont remember it.

So they found a way to eff up the show...

Quote:
It's been reported that Darabont, executive producer of AMC's hot new show, 'The Walking Dead,' has fired -- or "let go" to put it more politely -- the entire writing staff. What's more, he's apparently considering not replacing them for Season 2, instead assigning scripts to freelancers.

However, according to the episode breakdown, the Season 1 staff writers may not have been earning their keep. Out of the total six episodes, Darabont wrote two -- the pilot and follow-up -- and either co-wrote or re-wrote the other four. And of those four, one was written by exec producer Robert Kirkman and the other by 'HawthoRNe' alum, writer/producer Glen Mazzara.

At least the current staff knows what he wants, the other quote was that he was going to just hire freelance writers to write.

They have 13 shows for next seasons, using freelance writers is not going to work.

... at least they have about nine months to get it worked out. Show won't be back on TV until Halloween 2011.

The only thing that bothers me about this show is the unnatural mushy/gushy sounds the zombies make when they get hit/ impaled / stabbed w. pitchforks / etc...

How do you know that it's unnatural? The bodies are dead, they're hollow compared to a "alive" body.

one thing that is starting to annoy me a little is how the brother of that guy who sawed off his hand, he keeps attempting to inflict damage on people like the doc with an axe. and people hold him back. the holding back thing is getting pretty lame. i can see that happening once or twice but i think it has now happened like 4-5 times. i just dont think that if that dude wanted to hurt someone that he could be so easily prevented all these times. and just holding him back is enough to keep him from trying again somehow. not a major gripe though by any means...

^ He is a bit of a spazz.

And yeah, not a fan of his character as he's getting a bit annoying now. Seriously, way too knee-jerk.

However, the Rick/Shane arc is going to be interesting. The flashback did show that Shane did truly care about his best friend when the former was in a coma. He tried to save him and get him out of a hospital that was over-run and in chaos. And well, he could not hear a pulse and did what he could...

yeah if i was in that same situation as Shane i cant say i'd do much differently, that is one F'd up scenerio to be thrown into. however he needs drop the obsession with Rick's wife. pretty sad that the whole world has turned into man eating zombies and dude is obsessed about a female that he can't have. time to get priorities straight buddy.

Well, yes and no. It is conceivable to see Shane's plight. He has survived up to this point in the zombie apocalypse and his best friend was a memory.

He had vested himself emotionally to his friend's family and acting as their protector and even pseudo-husband/father. So, in some ways, the one thing keeping the guy sane in a nutty world...

...but, it all goes to hell when Rick shows up in camp. It's alot to take.

Don't you know people like this? Ones that fly off at the handle only to need someone to slow them down long enough to think it out. Well the hick never has had someone to slow him down, he is all impulse, a lot of people live that way.

SHIT!!!! Here we go LOST all over again, make us wait a year for any answers. How bout we also make the next season more than 6 episodes?? Seriously love this show though, my brother in law turned me onto it and I watch the marathon all day on Sunday. Usually don't get into the living dead thing but this show is great. I am happy that they retained standard Zombe killing procedures though, destroy the brain or remove the head
