Heres a how-to from GlockTalk:

Hope this helps:

This info is taken directly from the Ptooma Complete Glock Reference Guide pg. 160

Things you will need:

1) A few paper towels
2) Clean cotton rag
3) One white grease pencil, or color of your choice
4) Rubbing alcohol, paint thinner or an oil-free gun cleaner

Use a few ounces of rubbing alcohol, paint thinner or an oil-free gun cleaner to make sure the surface to be highlighted is totally devoid of any grease or oil of any kind. Scrub the lettering very well with the paper towel in all directions so that the lettering is clean. A toothbrush can be used too. With the pencil, fill in the lettering that you wish to have highlighted. Circular motion seems to work best. make certain that each letter is completely full. Now to remove the extra, the most tricky part of this process. With a small amount of the cleaner of your choice and a paper towel(or rag), LIGHTLY rub off the excess. If you remove some of the color from the inside of the letters, just restart the process at this point. When just about all of the extra color has been removed from the surface, switch to a dry part of the rag. Use this to buff off the last of the color.

Talking Here she is...

Just got back from the range and cleaned her up for you guys. Only put 50 rounds through her, but MAN I hit pretty well from 25yds. Very impressed. Different from my XD40, but it took me a while to figure out that pistol. This thing, pick it up, point and shoot. The sights im not too crazy about. I like my dots so I might be switching them out. I'm switching out the grips too...

Though field stripping 1911's = PITA.

That little piece that holds the guide rod spring in place was a bitch to get back on. It went flying across the room and hit the ceiling a few times lol....

Pictures. Took me about an hour of messing around to get it somewhat acceptable IMO. The magazines could use a tiny touch up but nothing major. Oh and dont make fun of her broken sight

stripping the 1911 is a piece of cake when you get used to it.

here's a tip to make guide rod spring cap installation easier: instead of trying to place the barrel bushing back into place in one movement, depress the cap far enough down so you can rotate the bushing to rest on the step of the cap. then you can work on completing the installation without it flying off and across the room.

i'd take a pic to demonstrate, but the gun isn't with me and the other 1911 has a different style guide rod and no bushing.

Ah, I gotcha...Rest the bushing on the cap and then use the tool to lock it in place. I will try that next time...Thanks!

I believe they do. Are S&W Wilson or McCormick friendly? My buddy's Kimber hates the McCormick (and crappy stock ones) but favors well with the Wilsons.

That is a beautiful S&W btw Joe. And yes, I'll let you know about a range meetup. Did you happen to buy the S&W off Cal-Guns? Cuz I think I remember seeing a similar piece for sale.

As for the "crayon mod" on the glock. I like it but decided to go for a better, durable look as the crayon starts fading after a few hundred rounds. I'll probably use an ink pen or nail polish.

Kind of off topic but what do you guys feel about the possible future of gun ownership in America? Apparently some of the top presidential candidates want to seriously regulate/ban gun ownership. Ie: Obama wants to ban all semi-automatic weapons.

I hope they don't I want to be able to buy a pistol when I turn 21

i'm so tempted to go back to the gun show tomorrow and buy one of these.

$1600 is the only thing keeping me from jumping on one.

Gun ownership will not go away. Unfortunately, like everything, education is the key to making the correct decisions, including voting for the right person for president. I for one, believe gun laws only prevent the good, legal individuals from buying (ie. California's ridiculous laws). Bad guys don't follow laws; regulation doesn't stop a person from going on a murderous rampage with an ILLEGALLY acquired weapon. Unfortunately, that logic doesn't play well into mainstream media and the connotation of the word "gun" is vastly negative.

The mags are a bit different then my XD's. They go in about 3/4's of the way and you have to slap them in after that. Not a big deal. They aren't stainless...Not sure if they will take Wilsons or not.
