Movie: Transformers - The Last Knight

Report: Hasbro CEO Confirms Shared Transformers Universe Plans, Possible 2017 Release for Transformers 5 - IGN

Quote:
Today, Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner shared an update on the Transformers franchise, confirming the Transformers Cinematic Universe and a potential release date for the next film in the series.

According to TFW2005, Goldner made the statement during Hasbro's 2015 Q1 Earnings Conference Call, saying:

"Our plan with the studio and filmakers you may have heard some writers being hired and we have in fact brought in Akiva Goldsman to lead a group of writers to really create a strategic plan around Transformers. We think there are any number of stories to be told from the brand that has been around for 30 years with amazing canon and mythology. We would expect the sequel to the Transformers movie [TF4] to happen in 2017."

It was previously reported that Akiva Goldsman was joining forces with Transformers director Michael Bay, exec producer Steven Spielberg and producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura to organize a "writer's room." This would be a host site for potential sequel ideas, as well as possible spinoff films based on the franchise chosen from Hasbro's toy line.

As of now, it seems that Michael Bay will not return to direct Transformers 5, opting to work on the Benghazi-based 13 hours instead.

Transformers: Age of Extinction was 2014's highest-grossing movie worldwide. IGN called it a movie "made for fans of the franchise" with its visual effects spectacles, but one that might also end up feeling "like too much of a good thing." IGN Logo

A movie based on the Benghazi attack? Really? Sigh.

#2 was the last one I saw and I remember almost nothing about it with the exception of Megan Fox straddling that motorcycle in shorts so short they were almost negative in length.

What does this mean? Separate films based in the future, like season 3 of the tv show?

This means they have plenty of ways to fuck up the Transformers universe.

Am I reading correctly but the article says "Transformers: Age of Extinction was 2014's highest-grossing movie worldwide"....no wonder more of these movies will be made. That's crazy!

Movie: Transformers 5

Transformers 5 to be Directed by Michael Bay

Quote:
Michael Bay will direct Transformers 5

Despite previously casting doubt on his involvement, like he has for each of the other sequels as well, director Michael Bay confirmed in a new profile at Rolling Stone that he will return for the upcoming Transformers 5 for a summer 2017 release.

Im doing Transformers 5, is it? Bay tells the outlet. J.J. [Abrams] told me, Youre the only guy that could do this. But its time to move on. One more.

Rolling Stone was also present in Bays Santa Monica office when he took a video call with visual effects supervisors at ILM, who showed him an underwater rendering of a crash-landed alien spaceship, then a new dump-truck Transformer with a cloak for the new film, which Bay apparently was dissatisfied with in their current form.

Also shown in this video call, a potential spoiler, was the reveal that the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows will feature the cinematic debut of the villain Krang.

He could have some tentacles, Bay tells the ILM staff after seeing a render of the character. I just dont want them coming out of the side. He looks like a stupid octopus.

Transformers 5 is set to be written by Iron Man scribes Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down) with Transformers: Age of Extinction star Mark Wahlberg also returning for the film. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows will debut in theaters on June 3.

I have faith in these script writers. MAYBE this one will be a little better. Not that they aren't pretty much at the bottom anyways. Maybe JJ should tell him, make a movie for the fans, not your stupid outlandish ideas. Worked for JJ on Star Wars.

Haven't seen the recent one with Marky Mark yet.

Probably won't see this one either. If the robots looked better...and the storyline was a bit stronger...maybe? The 1st Bayformer was decent...but, the two I saw afterwards were complete wastes of time...and I'm the biggest robot whore there is.

They will introduce your favorite transformers, but utterly fuck them up beyond all recognition to from their original form so you will be left weeping in tears and disgust.

Pretty much summed it up perfectly. I'm not at all surprised that Galvatron in the Bayformer movie is nothing like the Galvatron we know from the G1 series.

Was watching the Birth of Galvatron from this clip. OMFG...the sound of Unicron's voice here could be even more menacing than Darth Vadar! I don't think we have ever had a bad guy in the movie have such commanding voice.

They should've mixed both Michael Bay flicks and had them in Benghazi.

Oh the memories. Saw that in the theater on a military base in Germany while my Dad was stationed there.

The voice change for Megatron to Galvatron...awesome.

Title announced.

Last Knight: Transformers 5 Gets an Official Title

Quote:
Paramount Pictures has today announced the official title for the upcoming Transformers 5. Get ready for Michael Bay‘s Transformers: The Last Knight to hit the big screen June 23, 2017!

The Transformers: The Last Knight cast is confirmed to include the return of Transformers: Age of Extinction star Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yeager as well as new roles for Isabela Moner (100 Things to Do Before High School, Growing Up Fisher) as the film’s female lead, Izabella. Jerrod Carmichael (The Carmichael Show, Neighbors) is also set to play an unspecified leading role.

Production on Transformers: The Last Knight is set to begin June 6 in Detroit with production planned to take place at various locations around the world.

“Having one of the highest-profile film franchises created in Michigan is a major economic boost and a testament to the talent of the state’s production community,” said Jenell Leonard, commissioner of the Michigan Film & Digital Media Office when production plans were first revealed. “The production and economic investment is now happening sooner rather than later, and obviously, the project is a certainty rather than merely a possibility.”

Michael Bay returns to the director’s chair for the film, which is set to be written by Iron Man scribes Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down). Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Don Murphy and Tom DeSanto will produce the sequel.

Combined, the previous four Transformers films have brought in over $3.7 billion at the global box office with 2014’s Age of Extinction the second-highest grossing in the series. Current plans call for Transformers: The Last Knight to be followed by a Bumblebee spin-off film in 2018 before Transformers 6 arrives in 2019.

I am in in support of all things Transformers.

I have come to deliver a message to Michael Bay:

"You are to CEASE ALL operations of creating Transformers that NEVER EXISTED in your movies......

You mock the existence of our beings with your nonsense Ferrari Autobot, your 'Devastor' abomination.....and the unthinkable death of IRONHIDE!!! Does the name IRONHIDE seem like something destructible!!!!!!

You have been warned......"

My boy, Ultra Magnus asked me to pass that message along......I hope those of you, who are Transformer purists, can appreciate.

That is all.
