Adidas Ultra Boost - Pricey, but hands down, the most comfortable sneaker out there.

That's how I felt about my Solomon SpeedCross2 trail shoes, but when they wore out I got the SpeedCross4 and they don't fit me as well.

I feel like if you find a particular pair of shoes that fit REALLY well, you should probably buy three or four pairs... I was so sad about the Solomons.

I forgot I bought a pair of Red Wing Shoes hiking boots awhile back. They were about $180 and they're comfortable, seem pretty durable. I haven't had them for too long so I can't say how long they will last, but I've heard good things about them.

inb4 someone replies to this with a bad experience.

A few years back I started to do some looking into natural footwear, aka "barefoot shoes". Not those ridiculous finger shoes, but rather shoes that mimic or at least don't inhibit the natural motion of the foot. Our caveman ancestors went barefoot and there might be something to it. In the end, I arrived at Lems (ne Lemmings, ne Stem). I bought my first pair over four years ago and they're still going strong. I now have 3 pairs of the same style in different colors (Primal 1/2) and one more "dressy" pair in brown leather (Nine2Five).

These days, I'm either barefoot, in sandals, or in a pair of Lems (mainly the Primal unless I'm travelling for business and then it's the N2Fs).

The Lems are hands down the closest thing to being barefoot in public. Almost like wearing slippers. Sort of mid-range expensive, but they've held up much better than I expected.

FWIW II saw Clarks a few times in this thread, I've had three pair of them. They were very comfortable but the soles wear out very quickly.

Lemme add a comment: when someone says they are looking for "shoes" that to me means footwear you can't play sports in (or wouldn't want to) so Adidas, Nike, etc. are not shoes, they are sneakers.

Standing uncomfortably?

Sounds like you need some new/better shoes. Maybe even some sneakers.
