Bald Conti DW summer tires. Just got a new set actually. My 14.0 was on a 2.21 sixty IIRC, but that was on a tepid 100 mph trap. I went back when it was about 60 degrees and was trapping as high as 102, but my sixty foots were horrible at 2.30's-2.40's. I should get down to Lebanon Valley. We'd probably be a pretty close race! I'm going to order the Flashpro and ECU in the next week or so and start e-tuning. Also going to be shedding a little more weight. Hope to be trapping 104 this year.

Anyone here know if a 14.5 1/4 mile is normal for my 5AT type-s? I see Base MTs running mid 14s and I'm kinda flustered by it. I've always felt the AT type-s's and base MTs were on par.

What were the conditions of your run? 14.5 is not a bad time. I have seen 14.2 for a near stock one but that is a rare sight. Most are in the mid-high 14's. With your mods in perfect conditions, you should be near low 14's or even a high 13.

Funny you say that. Thats what my old auto TL had when I ran the 15.0 lol Im really thinking Im going to throw Kuhmo XS on two extra wheels, just for track and weekend duties. Will have lighter wheels this year(which still have the beat DWs currently), and be on H&R sport springs, koni shocks in about a week. Still need to install the ss clutch line, and modded slave cylinder, I hate the slipping clutch feeling. Need to stay just faster than my buddies Mazda Speed 3 haha

I like the DW. They're light and pretty sticky, but my fronts were bald at 14k. The rears still had decent tread, but they were cupped really badly on the inside from my camber. They got loud. I have different front and rear offsets, so I can't rotate front to rear, but I am going to go side to side every 3k on this new set and see what happens. The inside will still be inside, but I think it'll still help with the cupping on the rears because the direction will be changed. Really wish I'd gone with a square setup on my wheels.

About mid 40s. Tires had near perfect traction. I did bounce off the rev limiter going 1st-3rd and I let off the gas about 50 or so feet before crossing the 1/4.
Don't ask me why on any of these things, I wasn't thinking.

Post your slip. Mid 40's is probably negative DA, and your trap and 60' will tell the true story. Here's a base 6MT vs Type-S 5AT. The base is a little quicker.

2.5 consistent 60 foot (yea i know that's not great lol) with a dirty dirty car (purposely went to track to see exactly how it ran un-maintained for the last 15k miles from previous owner) - no oil change for over 10k miles, 2 badly worn motor mounts motor jumping 6 inches on rev, original spark plugs yes first ones ever in the car, super bald right front tire. ...so im thinking with new motor mounts, torque damper, new tires, oil change w/royal p, cai, new spark plugs, seafoam in the gas tank & running on 91 (yes he admitted using 87 regularly) & a ecu reset i can probably get my 60 foot down to 2.2 - not saying that's great either but i am still a newb haha... ya'll think thats about right or maybe even a slightly better 60 foot than 2.2 ?

My video down the track

Last weekend, went out to Fontana, CA for open drag racing-time trials. First time for my TL on track. Various nice cars out there and met some nice racers. Nissan GTRs blistering 11 seconds! Corvettes and Mustangs doing 12s. Best time I could muster was 14.85@96.7 on street tires. Morning was cool 60s but got into the 90s by afternoon. Traction was a struggle, tires spin easily. Most of the time just eased out of the blocks. Plan to do some more in future. Be nice to get some high flow pre cats ..Anyways, took some footage from passenger's point of view.

Nice vid man. The elevation of that track is 1110ft and with the temps in the 90s the DA was probabaly in the low 3000's. You could easily take a half second off that time and add 3mph.

hello there ... what the heck i'm not ashamed of doing my best & having fun lol ... so here is my best time with my stock 99 4at tl on a bald right front, severely broken mounts, original sparks on 140k miles, no oil change in over 10k miles.
4/2/14' ... 60'-2.55
330-6.92
1/8th-10.48@69.80mph
1000'-13.56@78.81
1/4-16.18@86.01
...ok - so went back on 5/10/14 & did not much better, but now had - bfg sport comp 2's up front, new mounts, ingalls damper, new sparks, RP oil change & cai. no, nothing to really add power but obviously it was running better. yes my 60 ft sucks major. i only know how to brake torque which gives me about 2100 to launch with - still a novice yes.
60'-2.58
330-6.91
1/8th-10.45@70.72
1000-13.52@79.28
1/4-16.14@85.68
...& AFTER leaving track, stopped at gas station only to realize my fronts were at 63 psi (max recommended 52) & my passenger rear was at 15psi (recommended 44) - so i believe my tire pressures may have screwed me out of a tenth or 2 of a second.
... anyhow, just wanted to share as yes im in the progress of learning to drive better & will be going back with underdrive oulley, dc headers, XLR8 test pipe & TB & IM entrance bore match. also above times were both simply in D4. Ill be practicing gate shifting until i get it down pretty good too b4 heading back.

Maybe the track conditions were worse since the 1st time you went. What was the weather like? what was your elevation?

well the temp was actually about the same ... 2nd time about twice as windy though, & i was noticably not hooking up as well ... nothing major, but noticable. i believe my psi being 11 over max had at least something to do with that. & that rear being at 15 psi had to slow my top end by at least 1-2 mph i'm thinking. i was truly expecting to hit 15.7, but oh well i'll be back with proper tire inflation lol, underdrive pulley & headers & see how it goes down! - it WILL be hotter though like by 10-15 degrees now that it's summer. & sac raceway pretty darn close sea level, but i don't know how to check density alt.

dragtimes has a calculator for DA. You input your elevation, temp, humidity and barometric pressure, from there you can get your DA.

not many heading out to the strip this year eh ???!!! haha anyhow, man i'm slightly disappointed but hey its all fun. dc headers, 4" cai, ingalls damper & decent bfg g-force sport comp2's up front ... 15.73 @89.2 with a nasty 2.5 60ft. that i cant seem to shake ... but i can tell you with 100% positivity the car is WAY faster on the country backroads. i reach 85 mph in approx 13.3 90 mph in approx. 14.8 & 100 mph in approx 16.2 and YES you can noticeably feel it pull harder than it does at sac raceway. funny thing is i'm doing these backroad runs literally a hundred feet from a drag strip that only opens up 2 or 3 times a year (yes ill be running here in a month or so) which is kingdon drag strip / airport located less than a mile from my home.

I said screw it and went today, pretty hot out 85 deg or so right off the highway and into the staging lane (heat soaked). 2008 TL-S 5AT

Bone stock 220lb driver

60' - 2.28
330' - 6.26
1/8th - 9.50
mph - 75.08
1000' - 12.27

1/4 - 14.59
MPH - 98.83

No way to launch an Auto or I know I could drop that time a few tenths easy. Hotlapped the car for 2 more passes and the computer was clearly pulling power from the heatsoak as each one got a little slower and mph fell.

Figures. Test & Tune today and it's going to be low 80's, muggy and 80% chance of showers. I'm sure they'll cancel. It wouldn't piss me off so much if it hadn't been sunny, cool and clear the entire past week with highs in the 50's and 60's and lows in the 30's. In other words, perfect track weather.

Only been to the track a couple time in my 3rd gen 6-speed. The only mod is a CAI. I also run 18x8.5 inch wheels with 265/35/18 Falken Azenis PT722 A/S tires. They are not very good tires. Wish I would have bought Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Here are the results.

14.39@98 is my best pass so far.

Did four runs tonight and I am absolutely stoked by the results.
I started off pisssed mainly because my transmission wouldn't shift to third at WOT and it botched my time to over 15.
My next run I bounced off the rev limiter in 2nd and 3rd and hit mid 14s

Last two runs were absolutely flawless. grip wasn't perfect but I featherd the throttle enough to get up and go.
60' ... 2.037
330'... 6.0000
1/8... 9.0945
1000'... 11.740
1/4 ... 14.066
Mph... 99

Corrected DA time/speed.
13.719 sec, 101mph

DA was 2134ft. 65F.

5at, no flash yet, only new mod since my last round was a throttle body spacer.
Sorry but what does FBO stand for? I'm not up to date on Acurazine Acroynms.

Yeah most the normal stuff. Pulley, tb spacer, CAI, PCDs, v3 jpipe, fresh oil, racing atf, and some minor weight reduction.
This was the first run where I didn't mess anything up. I want to try again but this time let the ecu shift and see how capable it is.

But I'm pretty sure I broke a motor mount, I'm on the edge for the Xlr8 mounts.

I have 245s all around on stock 17s with Tein S-Techs. No catback, but when I had the resonators moved around, the welder accidently split my exhaust pipes. He replaced them with a pipe slightly bigger than OEM. I doubt this has any effect on anything, but it's worth noting.

Thats a good 60ft time what tires are you running 1black_seven? I couldn't get any better than a 2.2 60ft.

Here are my timeslips from last night.

My new stock 2014 Accord Sport CVT (3,300 miles) @ Englishtown Raceway Park (Friday, 10/24):

R/T: .094
60': 2.632 sec
330': 7.050 sec
1/8: 10.533 sec @ 71.00 mph
1000': 13.514 sec
1/4: 16.032 sec @ 89.57 mph

I made this run (2nd of two runs) in 'D' mode. Turns out it's actually not that easy trying to maintain an 'even' power delivery with the CVT tranny in 'D' mode. I guesstimate that I left as much as .2 sec and 2 mph on floor when I left the track Friday evening. So, my goal is 15.8X @ 91.5mph for next time.

All in all, I'm pretty satisfied that it's faster than my old 12 Accord EX 5AT (never ran it) and its definitely quicker/faster than my old 07 AV6 EX-L 5ATwhich only ran 16.3 sec @ 88 mph.

A shop I do IT work for gave them to me for free, brand new. They're Triangle 245's. They sat in my garage for months, gave it that new tire smell.
Ive never heard of the brand but gave them a shot. The treads look sharp and they've always delivered on traction.

You went up against some pretty quick cars. Good RT as always, when do you launch in relation to the Christmas tree?

^ When you see the last Yellow light. R/T makes no difference in your 1/4 mile time, it really only matters in Bracket Racing or your own personal goals.

Nice run man. I'd love to go head to head with you in my 14 Mazda 3 GT 2.5. Would be a good run.

I still can't believe you only ran a 16.3@88 in your V6. My 03 V6 stock was over a second faster and had almost 7MPH on you. Even when I ran in Tucson at 3000ft elevation with a 4600 DA I ran a 15.8@90 bone stock.

I always leave right as I see the 3rd amber turn on. The last time I went to the track I went 14.16 @ 99 but broke the clutch in my car. It will be next year before I get to race again.

Yeah, I vented my frustration regarding my old AV6 back at that time. I even gave the keys to my son who did no better with it.

Getting back to my Sport, running a CVT isn't as cut and dry as an automatic. But, I am learning and getting a better feel for using the CVT w/paddles in sport mode. I'd love to run something like a Madza3 or Mazda6. (Seems like I have zero problems dispatching QR25 Altimas and 2AR Camrys. )
