Tell me how the fastest model 'stock' s60r, running the same time, EATS a TL-S?

You have all the data you need. Numbers of 60R are much better then TL-S.
TL is lighter then s60R, is it really? … could you do a test:
Set TL and s60R to neutral and push it – how many HPs you really need to move it from static position? Bring your data please.
Go and get Dyno for 60R and TL ... do not forget about torque… Find out what torque does and why it is important.
If you will accelerate and your speed is more then 30mph you should compare Drag Coefficient.
TL = 0.29
s60R=0.28 - much better at high speeds and at that point you have to forget about weight difference at high speeds your TL will get lost behind s60
Talking about weather: wet & Icy conditions … which would be a better car?
I do recommend you perform in 120 degrees … who cares about your engine that it will misfire a little. (I am sure that it is very not expensive to replace your engine and be proud that TL is less smart… by the way, there is a simple tune for hot conditions “cold” spark plugs? and octane)
And some ford explorers will kill Acura TL s … you would not perform against them on the bumpy street from the start it will kill you a little…
Drag Coefficient for ford explorer would be: cd = 38-0.41 ...though

Honestly, both TL-S and S60R weigh about the same, both are around 1600kg, any difference is just negligible.
TL-S 6MT: 1620kg (3563lbs) http://autos.yahoo.com/acura_tl_type...s-specs/?p=ext
S60R manual: 1604kg (minimum curb weight, in other words, no options added)
http://www.volvocars.co.uk/NR/rdonly...7Pricelist.pdf
I suspect the weight of the S60R would increase once you add in the options (quite a long list too)
torque is important for city driving, but in racing, the car with more hp, assuming others factors are the same, will win. An extreme example would be a F1 race car, 300lb/ft of torque, yet capable of doing 0-60 in 2.3s. The bottom line is, if the engine can make that amount of torque from low rpm to very high rpm, like 18000rpm, then you will get a lot of hp, just remember the formula/relationship between torque, hp, and rpm.
Drag, according to the Volvo UK site, s60r also has a drag coefficient of 0.29, in other words, the same as the TL.
http://www.volvocars.co.uk/NR/rdonly...7Pricelist.pdf
For sure, AWD traction would be an advantage to the S60R in wet and icy conditions.
What about track performance? Keep in mind that the TL-S has beaten both 07 IS350 and 07 G35 6MT sport on willow springs track in California by 2 seconds.
Oh yea, many cars will kill TL-S. In fact, any car can kill any other car, so..what's the point? There are civics out there that make over 500hp and can eat both TL-S and S60R any day.
In the end, I think the S60R has the advantage from a dig, but from a roll, I say they will be pretty close.

Cruisin'
after reading all these interesting posts....at the end of the day @ the Track it looks like a drivers race between both these vehicles @ stock trim....( Type-S 6MT vs. auto S60R)....My wife has a Type-S and my Bosses wife has S60R...i've driven them both ..on a cold day that S60R rocks..I also like the active suspension on the S60R and the stock 18in rims not to mention the brembo on both front and rear wheels...

I haven't been on here in a while, but I'll throw this out there:
I'll be there....if anyone wants to go head to head...my RT's sucked at Palmdale, so we'll see what I can do here. Elevation is definitely better, but will be worse on the turbo temp-wise. I'll be running Toyo T1R's and 100 oct. Come out and play...I won't hang my head if I get beat by an Acura!

Well, it starts at 12pm, but the location is bout a 3 hour drive for me so I wouldn't be able to make both events.
Im sure you'll do another event some other time, and if you can remember, shoot me a pm or invite.

Bah...I'm not racing after all on the 30th now. Going camping with the fam. Brownie...pm me your e-mail or MSN Messenger and we'll set something up. Bring someone to hold the camcorder. I've got a card for the VP 100 pump in Temecula, if you want to boost your oct before we go.

I got lined up next to a black TL at a light on a 3 lane 55mph today...did all I could to provoke a little competition...he wasn't havin' it. Young guy too...maybe some owners don't know how much they got with their TL and are easily intimidated? LOL
Someday....

I'm actually getting really anxious. You guys post so many kill stories against cars I wouldn't think the Volvo would beat. Then again...lots of those cars are faster on paper than the Volvo...but there's a ton of shitty drivers out there. My RT's sucked big time at my first visit to the track.
