Island Dragway

My fiance' felt like drag racing one day so I took her to Island Dragway in NJ. We managed to get 2 runs each since we got there 2 hours after the gates opened. We raced my stock G37xS sedan w/ 112k miles and made no preparations given that this was just for fun. I had a trunk full of crap, 1 bad front tire and a full tank of gas (NJ gas prices FTW). Anyway, I ran a best time of 13.7 @ 101.53. She did a 14.0 @ 100 I will go back after I have replaced the tire. I couldn't get a strong launch at all. Hopefully we will do better next time

Nice. I'm jealous of your 60' times. What does the fiance drive?

Do you remember what car was in the lane next to you on that posted time slip? Was it a mustang GT or camaro SS?

Does anyone know of a calculator than adjusts times for DA? I'm sure my times could've been better if the conditions were. Thanks!

Something is definitely off. G37 typically finish 13.8-14.1 @ 99-102mph

I figured. I've got Stillen Gen3 intakes on the way. I'll install them and see what I run afterwards

I need to get over to Island one day. Good times but the traps seem low(ish).

I visited Island Dragway yesterday and managed only one run. I believe I have reached the limit of this car in its stock form. I ran a 13.5 @ 103 mph. I will be back after some mods and a tune. I'm sure I can dip into the low 13's @ 105+ with some new tires, an intake, exhaust and a tune. Any thoughts?

Not bad at all. Just picked up my M240i, JB4 and intake are on their way, so I'm itching to hit the track.

I'm hoping for 12.30's @ 115+ with the JB4. Car & Driver got 12.7 @ 111 stock. The B58 is strong as hell. I just hope it's reliable!

Thats insane. You'll surprise most at the track. I went last night in a 17 GLS450 and beat a bunch of WRX guys. Ran a 14.2 @ 98 😂

Ha , that's awesome! Always loved getting up on the wrx guys in my TL. Wish I was closer to Island. I know Sonnick always liked going there. Is it usually not too busy, so you get in alot of runs?

Friday nights are usually not crowded if you arrive early. They start at around 7/7:30pm. I managed 7 runs that night and could have done more.
