My friend has a 2006 Audi a3 sportback and thinks he can beat me in a quarter mile but doesn't want to race me. I have a 2006 Acura TL. He drives manual I drive auto, with VSA off I can do 0-60 in 6.1 seconds. His car also has 35,000 more miles. I think I would win even if we had the same mileage, and even if his car is stick, and I don't think it would be too close of a race either.

So since I'll never be able to race him, what do you all think?

2.0T A3 or VR6?
It depends on driver skill anyway. Both cars are similar in performance on the quarter mile, don't let your 6.1 seconds 0-100 fool you. You mess up your start and it's over.

Out of all the threads that I've ever read on this site, I've never run into one about "who is faster, or who can beat me".. This is hilarious!

I recently went against an A3 Sportback last week for shits and giggles with my buddy. His was an 07, don't know the mileage he had but I have 135K on mine. He took me hard off the line with the starting torque those 2.0T cars have from VW, but I blew past him as soon as I hit second gear and VTECH went WAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!

LMFAO...... if you race using the TL make sure step off the gas as soon as the 4th gear engage.

LOL you guys kill me, thanks for the responses.. I know it's a lame question but it was just bothering me cause he keeps saying no to a race but insists he will win.

And I'm pretty sure it's 2.0t.. I also mentioned mileage because I assumed a car with 0 miles will run better than one with 200,000

I destroy the new b8 a4's off a dig and off a roll, but if they have apr stage 2 tune they get me good 0-80 off a dig but off a roll i pull them hard, when tuned they're good off a dig
