1996ish Impala SS not as fast i thought it was?
Its someone around my area that drives a black 96 impala that i have been wanting to race for months, well last night that wish came true, it was 1am when we were lined up on a street. We both took off, i made it to about 80mph give or take, my front bumper was with his front door the whole time! I thought he would of blew me away with that LT1 motor and i know he wasnt completly stock. But he did have big 22 inch chrome wheels. The TL suprised me. BTW, i got a bone stock 99 TL.

lol i guess so, BUT, he did still beat me. If we would of kept going i wonder if i would of started to pull. Man that impala sounded SOOOO good. I noticed the low end isnt very strong on the tl. But if you punch it at highway speeds, it pulls very strong. Feels like it has a little more than 225. I guess this car is a top end revver, just like my cadillac seville northstar that i owned. That car wasnt much from a stand still or low speeds, but holy shit that car was fast going down the highway.

lol im new to honda, been a nissan man. The Max made great power down low, not too much more than the tl, but more. The tl pulls like a bat on crack at highway speeds. A week back i was playing around with a newer hyndai sonata, i was at nearly 130mph without realizing😮, car is dead smooth on the highway. I mostly raced on the highway anyways, so the top end is preferred.

some of the newer 8's will pull from all ranges of the tach. from 0RPM to 7000RPM, newer V8s will take you and spit you out like you were standing still
but older 8's like the Lincoln LS, you will have no problem taking

lol im pretty sure i will get dusted off by the newer v8s! And btw, thoboii i have an k&n air filter. It looks like the stock air intake design flows pretty good. The k&n made the car sound a shit load better. My next race is gonna be up against my guy, which has a 06 SS Impala. Of course im gonna mod before i race him. Even though they have 303hp stock, they are not all the fast, and that 4 speed transmission they have are gross! I once saw a bone stock Camry v6 take out a 06 SS Impala. Im not too worried.

when i raced the 96 SS, i wasnt planning to, it just happened. But i see dude everytime i go towards that way of the city, i can defly get a video next time i spot him. I can get one once i race my guy for a fact. Im gonna get headers, exhaust, LW crank pulley, 3.7 manifold swap with larger throttle body and a tune before i race him. He keeps his car stock, he knows nothing about cars other than how to put his foot down.
