Is My Junkyard Oil Pan Cracked?
Hello,
I bought this oil pan for my 1st Gen V6 CL around November last year. I never got around to installing it then, had a nightmare working with the exhaust and had to put the car back together for daily use.
I cleaned it a few days ago (which took me hours - who knew how much better Dawn Ultra was over Palmolive?) and I now notice cracks on the inside and outside surfaces.
I've heard the oil pan has a finish which sometimes shows cracks like this, like casting marks. I'd still like some confirmation that this oil pan is good to install.
Here it is from the inside (drain bolt towards the top):
And here's the bottom (drain bolt towards the top):
Is there any test I can do on the oil pan before installing it to see if it'll leak or handle the hot engine oil? (I can't install it now, car will be disabled for a while.)

Spray soapy water on the outside and blow it with compress air on the inside... bubbles... defective; no bubbles... still good.
Fill it with water and leave it over night on top of dry newspaper... you will know by morning.
Do the second to double check the first.
