Seat motor issue (unique problem?)

well, I've been through a bunch of threads on seats not reclining, but my issue is electrical, not the mechanism being stuck.

If I remove the recliner motor from the seat it will rotate in the direction that leans the seat forward, but will not rotate the other direction.

I removed the working motor from the passenger side and connected it to the driver seat and it does the same thing, it will turn in the direction of tilting the seat not forward, but will not turn the other way.

I disconnected the battery to see if I could reset some sensor some place but it didn't help the situation.

This is driving me insane. Any ideas?

to add to the confusion, the raise/lower for the back half of the drivers seat does the same thing. motor will turn in the direction to raise the seat, but not the direction to lower it....

Awesome. I'll be all over this in a few days when I have a few minuts to tear the seat out again...

It has been a while but I ended up getting a new seat recline mechanism. Solving the recline issue, however the seat back still won't move forward. Also the rear of the seat bottom only goes down but not up. Which is a carry over issue from before. It looks like the "B" plug may be missing the wires for B1 and B5. Do you think the could be the issue or is that normal? I'm relatively certain all plugs are in the appropriate places as the seat moves in all other directions.

I tried to dredge up some wiring diagrams to better understand the system but it has not gone well so far.

Here is an idea of which plugs I have where. Does everything look correct?

These are the missing wires from the B plug

This is the connector I have plugged into the seat recline mechanism. Notice it is missing a wire as well. The female end of the plug has a wire in every position, which may also be a problem

If you have access to the motor's plugs then just hot wire the motors to test their operations. Just reverse the polarity to move the seat in the opposite direction. Hot wire directly to the motor itself and not through any other component.

I can give that a try tomorrow. But for a permanent fix It would be helpful if you know where I might come across a pin out of the recliner motor plug.

I don't have that info for the cl but that's ok bc once you start powering the seat's motor then you will know which pin is for what part of the seat movement.

Just trace the wires from the motor to the plug.
