Looking to buy a used 2003 cl type s, 3rd gear makes a noise, advice?
I'm looking at a used 2003 cl type s in SF, and I found one with ~150k. It's pretty clean except for a grinding noise when entering 3rd gear, especially at higher RPMs. My initial thought is that the synchros are out. Can anyone confirm this or give me an idea of what's most likely wrong and a rough estimate of how much it would cost to fix it?

if it is a manual, trans has to come out and be rebuilt. most likely toasted the syncros
