Sensor problems

I have a 15 TLX advance and have been getting some weird things happen while driving. I can be driving down the road no where near the line and the wheel will start trying to jerk me back on the road from time to time. I do have the front grille painted will that mess with the sensors any? The radio has been messing up too so I'm just wondering if there some kind of electrical problem.

I hit a deer last year and it busted the grille. After the body shop fixed it they took it to the acura dealer to test all the sensors and everything was fine and said nothing needed to be replaced. The grille was painted black at this time too. Just wondering if the sensor behind the grille is messed up possibly?

Anybody else had any of these issues?

Thanks,
DW

Are you getting lane departure warnings on your instrument screen? The lane keeping and warning systems uses the camera behind the rearview mirror, so your painting of the grille shouldn't impact those functions. Perhaps the camera is out of alignment?

Since you painted your grill have you tested your CMBS and the adaptive cruise control? You might check your lane mitigation setting in the User Setups - it might be set on wide.

Do you have window tint with metal - even hybrid film which has a layer to cut out heat? That could affect TPS, Radio, BT, Nav and other systems. Steering system works off the windshield camera. Check windshield cleanliness and camera alignment.

When you say "the wheel will start trying to jerk me back on the road from time to time", do you mean it's nudging you over or is it just vibrating the steering wheel?

There is usually a "steering required" warning that flashes on your MID when it thinks you aren't steering the car. The wheel vibrates when this happens.

There is usually a "Lane Departure" warning that flashes on your MID when it thinks you're about to go off the road, then the steering wheel is vibrated or nudged into the opposite direction of travel.

And according to "the user manual", you shouldn't paint the grill because a radar is located behind it. For lane keeping, though, I think the camera at the top of your windshield may be more important.

Problem solved! Wasn't the painted grille grill causing issues the camera harness was loose.
