Coil pack failure experience
My coil pack failure experience on our 2011 RDX with over 140,000 mi:
I was cruising on the freeway and started smelling something unusual. I got to my off ramp and turned on to a surface street. As I left the light I started to feel a misfire and the ck engine light came on. I was on a bridge with no shoulder so I limped to the next intersection and pulled over in a residential section and looked the engine over and found nothing unusual. I chose to limp home over flatbedding it.
Got home and started trouble shooting. I had only one code- misfire cyl 2 (PO302) Pulled the spark plugs and they all looked ok.. I bought a set of 4 coil packs and plugs from Auto Zone for about $350.
Problem solved.
