I need help identifying what this hose is called and if i need to replace it along with the air intake?









Don't know much about cars but if its broken than it must not be good.
I appreciate the help.

go to the junkyard/pick a part and go grab it. I wouldn't buy NEW per se..


or a good time for a cold air intake?

the hose isn't necessarily broken though, just the air intake tube.

right, take off the broken rubber from the metal tube and all you need is an air intake tube

Yep if you are going to spend any money then drop in a Cold air Intake (preferred) or Short Ram Intake.

Otherwise try to find one off a TL in a junkyard or whatever. But don't delay as currently you're sucking unfiltered air into your valve train. If it's been broken for a while you may want to change your oil filter when you get the new intake installed.

^ That metal tube doesn't suck air though.. Its the air tube when connected that sucks oil fumes from the valve train to the manifold.

^but throttle body is right there, no?

that hole next to the throttle body has to be sucking up dirt, as you can see the plastic cover is covered in dust

the big problem is the open TB inlet- the system is made to be sealed from the air filter box to the TB

I don't see a hose clamp on the TB end of the intake tube? is it my eyes?

is there some back-story here that we need?

Just get it fixed asap. The metal tube supplies make-up air that the pcv system is removing. Any air flow, along with dirt, is going into the valve cover, and eventually the crankcase and oil.

like I was trying to explain, the open` TB to air snout to air filter` is like having NO air filter at all!
