Navi, Climate, Steering wheel, Lighting

I have read and read the AZINE's 3g posts about this. About 20 different posts i have read.
https://acurazine.com/forums/audio-b...-713113/page2/
https://acurazine.com/forums/problem...ght-up-868569/
https://acurazine.com/forums/third-g...ewbies-553554/

My problem is that NO lights work, on the Steering wheel, Navi, Climate, heated seats, NOTHING!

Now my overhead lights work and door lights work.

My small light fuse 10amp isn't blown, and the 7.5 amp interior light fuse is fine.

Before i change all my bulbs, I want to know the one question that NOONE has eluded to WHAT CONTROLS THESE LIGHTS!!! Is it the dimmer button under the speedo?

Thanks for the help

Oh, BTW i took apart the dash and the bulbs don't look burnt out.

the overhead lamps and door lights are controlled by the toggle right under the sunroof button. One side is always off, middle is on when opening doors and such, and other side is always on. There is no other buttons that control the brightness of those lamps. As for steering wheel lights and gauge lights the brightness is all controlled by the dimmer below the gauge cluster. Sounds like a wiring issue somewhere. Has the car been wrecked to you know? That sucks though, sounds frustrating as hell.

Where the hell is the TAILLIGHT RELAY located?

I believe the taillight relay isn't switching the red/blk to ground as both pin 1 and 2 have 9 to 12 vdc going to them.

I can get the light to turn on by placing a 9 volt battery on it...so i know it works.

try fuse 4 and 7. I would check all of them with a small tester. O'rielly's sells them. Mine has a little light on it. If it lights up, its good. move on to the next.

all bulbs have power to both both pins. The red and the red/black. Right now i am troubleshooting to the bulb on the dimmer/max switch on the dash but also verified on the seat warmer.

All fuses are good and I have that small light up tool.

When I turn the lights on thats when the power shows up. In order to light up a bulb one needs to be a ground and that is not happening.

if you have power at the bulb, but no light from the bulb, then I think you have your answer. replace the bulb. Or Try this.. Get a good bulb (relocate one from another socket) and replace just 1. And see if it works.

Do you door switch MEMORY lights light up? If so, borrow one from there.

the bulbs are good, the problem is that the contacts to the bulb both have power. 2 powers wont light up a bulb, you need a power and a ground, i am missing the ground.

wondering if the ground comes from the red or red/black wire. knowing that will help

oh I see what you are saying. I never checked both leads for power like that before. It might be possible I guess.. But you know the weird thing about the electronics on this car (04-08 TL), many of the devices have +5v tied to them constantly, but only when the switch is on, it ties the bottom side to ground. So, basically circuit is open until it see's a ground. Not sure why they did it that way. That might be why so many people short out circuits.. But IF all your fuses are good, then only way out for you is to review the all the schematics from HELM. And start looking at each device on the circuit.. whichever circuit it is.. I have an 07/08 HELM ETM for sale for $50. Btw, it might be a good idea to check the fuses under the hood too!! check those smaller ones.

.

I have an 04 Acura service manual. The problem is that it will show the circuit and for ALL bulbs that our OUT the red wire comes from the gauge control module (speedo) and the red/blk comes from the taillight relay, which is the relay control module under the fuse block in the engine bay.

Thinking about wiring the lights direct instead of the red/black from the taillight relay to a ground that comes when lights are turned on.

if you look at 22-436 display troubleshooting, A4 says it should have power when lights turned on and A2 to B9 on the gauge panel(speedo)...Im going to try putting a bulb in A4 to A2 and play with it.

I report back later tonight.

On baby duty now.

I dont think I can help. I dont know why you are looking at the rear lights.. I don't know what you were touching when the lights stopped working. I think rear lights are on another circuit.. And the service manual is not the same as the ETM. That service manual schematic you are looking at on page 22-201 sucks. Again, I don't think I can help.
