Just replaced upper transmission mount (how much vibration is "normal"?)

vibration in gear = gone (almost)

it was a bitch to get to removing the battery tray because there were 3 hidden bolts under the tray, thank god I have small arms and hands.

PM me if you have questions. I was gonna take pics for DIY then didn't take pics.

btw, how much should my car vibrate in gear with OEM mounts? right now i can tell if it's in gear or not by vibration, but I consider it normal. I mean there are thousands of moving parts and continuous explosions :P

I even considered the broken (upper trans) mount's vibration normal cuz well, it's in gear,, duh . then I read everyone's post that it's a bad mount, popped intake filter, and it was cracked.

another dumb idea.

I'm considering replacing the front and rear motor mounts with XLR8 one, and leaving the side one stock, so the only one that could POSSIBLY go bad is the side one, because it's easy to replace. what do you think??

My car idles very smooth, you probably can't even tell the engine is on if you only go by the lack of vibrations. The j series is a very smooth engine, I've had broken mounts before and it caused very slight vibrations but nothing that would raise alarm. However the rear and front motor mount make the biggest difference in terms of vibration.

Oem mounts will give you the smoothest ride PERIOD. Even worn out oem mounts will idle better than new aftermarket motor mounts. Aftermarket mounts are for performance, not comfort. However if you have a manual transmission it's not as bad since you idle in neutral.

thank you sir, for helping me out a lot lately.

I'm looking for a long-lasting solution,

I heard OEM 6MT mounts are harder than auto mounts, so if i purchase TL-S 6MT or 04-06 SPORT model mounts, (3 engines), would they last necessarily "longer" than auto mounts?
