A clicking noise when accelerating???
#41
From searching, go to an autoparts store and buy a axle nut and replace yours. It's the cheapest way to go first. I did notice (more costly) when I replaced my axle and ball joint, the noise was gone, I assume it was the axle on the driver side.

I think I have the same problem. Coming from the front on both left and right side
The first noise happens almost right away. Second comes around 6-8secs. Third time around 12sec. Last one is at the 18sec mark.

Exact same issue
Hey everyone. i recently purchased a 2005 Tl 6 Spd. The clicking noise has started all of a sudden. I purchased the car like a week back and it was not there. Day before yesterday I slammed the breaks real hard and they kind of locked and the car skidded for a while. Ever since then, the noise is there. I am taking it to a mechanic tomorrow and am getting the axle nut tightened. From what I understand, the noise isn't coming due to brakes being worn out or something. If anyone has any suggestions it would be great.
I will let you know tomorrow what I hear about it.

Just noticed this issue with my drivers side this week. I am going to try to replace the axle nut first and if that doesnt fix it I will try the other fixes. Are you guys using only the OEM replacements or is something from Dorman (Advance Auto Parts) an acceptable replacement part?

I have a different issue from the ones listed above
My click happens only when I let off the gas pedal after starting from a stop, and it only happens once. It does not happen upon braking only accelerating. If I continue to accelerate while moving it does not click, only from a start.
Any suggestions?

Not sure if you all have found out your cause or not...

07 TL Type S
I'm having this same issue.
Just got an 07 TL-S 2 months ago.
Sounds like a CLANG noise. Like two pieces of metal hitting together. Only happens 1-3 times and goes away. Never on accelerating or braking- always on coasting around 2-5 MPH
Of course, I have it under extended warranty, and the dealership cannot figure out the issue. I even had to come back and drive through the parking lot with the technician to show him what the problem was.

I have to say my click came back. I replaced my axle nuts and it is still there but greatly reduced in volume. It almost sounds like there is a tiny bit of play where the axles are splined and it rotates there and clicks. My nut is torqued to spec unless my wrench is off. It only clicks right when i start to accelerate and then once when i am decelerating.

2010 Acura ZDX Engine Noise
I am experiencing a rattling noise when accelerating slowly or quickly from the engine. I took it into the Acura dealership and they said they here it but the diagnostics check okay. A luxury vehicle should not be making these types of noises.
Any Ideas

If it's one of those last two, the techs should have been able to diagnose it.
You might try the ZDX sub-forum, which is linked at the very top of the page, along with links to the other Acura models.

I forgot to ever respond to this if anyone is having the same issue - it was a pebble inbetween the tire and the wheel, believe it or not.
The porter acutally figured it out after 2 mechanics checked it out and couldn't find anything. Get that kid a raise!

Does anyone have an update on this clicking noise when accelerating? I also have the same issue on my 10 RL.. I notice it ticks at very low speeds and slightly louder when i reverse.. I read to the entire thread and I don't think anyone has gottend to the bottom of it.. I honestly don't think a Axle nut is the culprit. An axle perhaps may have more reasoning..
Has anyone replaced the axles and know if that's the culprit or gotten to the bottom of it.

Yes, i have encountered this numerous times on the 3G TL.
The problem most the thread is describing is a more of a "Tink" noise then a clicking.
This is cause the grease that should be used on the face of the axle comes out (where it meets the wheel bearing) When axles are changed you should be using Honda MOLY PASTE M-77 08798-9010
If you are experiencing a "Tink" when accelerating, buy new axle nuts, remove old axle nut and axle (from the wheel side only) and then grease the disc that is pressed onto the end of the axle, re-torque.
I have fixed at least 5 TL/RL that had this issue.
In some cases, people replace the axle when in reality all that was needed was a little grease.
