CEL code gave me strange code
My CEL came on today. Completely stock vehicle and only thing I've done is remove the rear seats to remove the subwoofer. I left everything unbuttoned.
The code read 9-2. After some googling, it seems to be SRS related but my SRS light isn't on. I'm confused as heck. Need advice or suggestions. Thanks.
I'm also 4k over my oil change, which I'll be doing tomorrow, I just don't know if it'll be related. I do have starting issues every now and then. As if the starter or battery is bad (grinding noise). I've replaced the starter a year ago, though.

how did you get that code?

I'm not entirely sure, to be honest. The only thing I did differently lately was remove the rear deck trim and seats. I unbolted the rear seatbelts from the floor, as well. I wouldn't think that would give me a code, especially since I did it a month or two ago when I got the code yesterday.
I've always had a battery drain issue with the car. I thought it was the HFL so I disconnected it years ago. All sources say its a faulty SRS code but why the CEL??? I'm confused beyond confusion lol. Guy at O Reilly's also said I have an emission code 12-1.

So I just realized that the 9-2 could be both the seatbeat system as well as an electrical short or issue completely unrelated to the SRS, am I reading the 9-2 dtc correctly?
"9-2 Faulty SRS or Supplemental Restraint System 12 volt power or VSS supply or 12 volt power or VSS feed VB Line"
Vss = vehicle speed sensor
But what does VB line mean?

when troubleshooting, it's easier to go through EACH issue one by one.
because you un-clipped the back seat area, which btw way, SRS sensor are lined all back there. you're going to need to see if you ACCIDENTALLY un-clipped any SRS sensors in the back seat area.
that's issue number 1.
2nd issue may or may not relate to 1st issue. BUT let's get that starting thing figured out. IF IT IS INDEED A WEAK BATTERY, a WEAK battery can throw faulty CEL codes at you, resolving issue #1.
in conclusion; you'll need to go over your work to see if any SRS sensors are unclipped. then, troubleshoot the battery. when the car is off, the battery should read 12.2-4 volts.
