Manual Emergency Trunk Release ... in case you didnt know

Thought I'd share this info. It's the answer to this thread.
Cannot open the trunk with a dead battery
I just found the emergency trunk release. It's above and behind the trunk access in the trunk area.

I'm working on the sound system and taking pics. .. will post pic of the manual release later .. keep looking .. it's a black plastic tab, you have to find it from the trunk ... once you know where it is you can pull it from the cab.

When u said the trunk access area are u talking about the little door in the back between the seats when u pull down the cup holsters??

Holy thread revival...Almost 10 years old...But yes, I believe it is behind the cupholders in the rear console...Go through that door, I believe.

And I assume you searched to find this thread...Great job for a first poster..I can tell you will have fans already. Welcome to Azine.

There are two releases. One between the pass through, and another on the trunk itself. The one in the pass through is under the rear deck, use a flashlight to see it.

That is awsome! I think that is the oldest post I have seen! Dang, the CLS was only out about 6 -7 months at that time!

Welcome to Azine. What do you drive?

NP. Good searching skills btw. You'll do alright here

Oh yes, don't forget the switch in the glovebox. The first time I had to throw an ex girlfriend in the trunk she found the safety release and got away. Never made that mistake again once I found that nifty little switch in the glovebox! Its a Godsend!

Wait wait wait..... don't go calling the cops, I was just joking!

Youre doing it wrong.

Tie their hands behind their back. If they are still squirmy, give them a quick hit of chloroform. That ensures a peaceful trip to the nearest abandoned lot for sure.

PS - The pass through is great for shovels with long handles!
