AC not working??? HELP

My AC just stopped working out of no where. I have no clue what it is and i was wondering if anybody has any suggestions on what it may be. I was told i might need freeze on but idk.

Is the compressor kicking on? Should be noticeable when it does kick on at idle.

Will it blow cold if you rev or floor the gas, or does it always blow hot? I'd put more freon in it and check for leaks. If you try to run the a/c for too long like this it may end up frying your compressor like it did with mine.

khmerpride 09-04-2009 05:01 PM

Ah, well if you ever get it diagnosed by a shop, let me know how it goes. I need to get my a/c checked too.

JDM97CL 09-04-2009 06:18 PM

ight man no dought but its probly not guna b for awhile cuz its about to be winter for me so... but ill still find it out and ill let you kno.

khmerpride 09-04-2009 10:34 PM

Lol, yeah, I don't plan on fixing mine till spring too. My a/c compressor still turns on and works, but it has a leak somewhere, haven't gotten it checked out yet. I just hope it's not a major component broken somewhere and that it's just a hose or something leaking.

JDM97CL 09-07-2009 12:31 AM

see ur lucky lol i cant here mine turn on so i dont kno whats going on

WineRed2.2CL 09-07-2009 12:30 PM

if it blows air at least. Refill it with r 34 refrigerant, But buy the whole kit with a gauge that tells you if your low on freeze to high or got a leak.

Good luck

JDM97CL 09-07-2009 12:43 PM

thanks man

Try connecting 12 volts to wire on compressor- if clutch on compressor kicks on-check the relays hanging off radiator. If it doesn't it's probably the compressor.

Any resolution ever come of either situation?

shadow1185 08-02-2010 10:59 AM

Thanks for the information WineRed2.2CL. My A/C blows cool air not cold. The shop wanted $175 to charge it. Thinking of getting the kit and doing it myself!

somethings wrong with my a/c. it works perfectly fine with cold air but its leaking cold water by there the passengers foot would go... while driving, when i turn hard it leaks water inside as well. can anyone tell me how to fix this? i've already invested $500 on the a/c... its starting to piss me off. :p

Your evaporator core is leaking either because the tube that drains the water out of the car has fallen off or because the evaporator is cracked. Basically it’s a big black box you can see if you look under the passenger dash that should have a tube coming off the front and routes the condensation out of the cabin and drains onto the road. Hopefully that helps.
