Hey, I never needed to fold down the seats but today I cant seem to figure out how to do it. On accords, theres a key hole, I might be blind but can someone help me out.

prlwhtl25 02-24-2009 11:10 PM

Cant fold down...just the arm rest in the middle

fobstylez 02-24-2009 11:17 PM

tegkid 02-24-2009 11:21 PM

youve been here for this long and didn't know?
theres been multiple threads on the forum and i just posted in one a few days back.

'03TL-S 02-25-2009 12:15 AM

You never know until you try.

But yeah, the rear seats doesn't fold down. There's like 4 10mm bolts holding it down.

fobstylez 02-25-2009 09:09 AM

hehe yea its sad, Ive been on these forums for almost a year but i never had the need to fold down my seats.

JCharged 02-25-2009 09:53 AM

Yea I got owned trying to fold down the seats one day. I hate that they don't sometimes. :annoyed:

bigeshorte45 02-25-2009 10:19 AM

^it is so obnoxious when i need the space and they wont fold down..

tegkid 02-25-2009 10:57 AM

just pop em out
i leave mine 1/4 unbolted so all it takes is snapping out the bottom and an easy 3 bolts to remove the back.

01tl4tl 02-25-2009 11:09 AM

yep-- remove when not needed

01tl4tl 02-25-2009 11:09 AM

LeeDan00 02-25-2009 11:12 AM

BlackuraTL 02-25-2009 03:44 PM

I just get pissed when I try to put a snowboard in my car

tegkid 02-25-2009 04:48 PM

thats when you remove the rear seat...
that is unless you are trying to carry more than 2 people than you just bought the wrong car.

Do like i do. The seat isnt structural. Unbolt it it will stay in place just fine. When you need to lift up on the bottom flip it to the floor area, lift up on the rear section and lay it down. Bam....... Instant pass thru that many snow boards/bike will fit thru. (The later is/was one of the reasons i left it was for when i didnt have my bike rack handy)

Come on guys lets get it together, you guys forget that we have LUXARY cars, for luxary not to carry shit around from Home Depot, if you want to carry snowboards buy a SKIRACK!!!! trunk space yes, not backseat :rockstar:

gold2003tl (90) 02-25-2009 08:38 PM

it is very funny to see someone at the Home Depot putting like 20 bags of dry cement mix into a Acura (or any LUXURY car), talk about some mad neg camber :chuckle:

tegkid 02-25-2009 08:43 PM

hmm i guess i dont really consider my car a LUXURY car.
its just a nice, comfortable, amenity filled sedan. leather, navi, v6 equipped doesn't really make it a LUXURY car...

id barely consider the RL a LUXURY car.

gold2003tl (90) 02-25-2009 09:00 PM

"luxuary" cars have suspensions that are too soft, and engine that cant be heard at all, and nub steering, and fat white walled tires

Ahhh ok dude, what a stupid comment. too bad all my other acura/hondas had fold down seats. You buy a luxury car, you expect all the basic features on top of the luxury futures, fold down seats are a basic feature.

Luxury car makers make car for people with money:wish: so their strategy is a lil' different. Just my :2cents:

acutee 02-26-2009 12:37 PM

So, cars with fold down back seat are not luxury cars?
I wouldn't think I am one of the rich people because I don't have foldable backseat.

Here is my guess, our car is more like a sport sedan or sport luxury sedan. Since it was sport sedan, the frame structure needed to be beefier, thus an economy way to do so is to make the frame behind the backseat connected to strengthen the structure, just like an add-on brace you see people added behind backseat. since acura braced the car behind the backseat, making the feed-through hole so small, so it would not make sense to make the backseat foldable with such a small hole; hence, no fold down backseat. that said, also not having fold down backseat will make it less money to build the car. Even if they had made the backseat foldable, people will complaint as what a waste with a foldable backseat that you can't feed anything through with such small hole.

I would love to have a foldable backseat. whether it is luxury or not, it if for convenience. "Italian Jobs" could have used this car if the backseat was foldable, don't you think?

im surprised no one else has brought that up yet.

Yes, boss...will work on that part. If you could point them out, I am sure I will remember those errors next time. I am very open minded, and love to learn from others. That is why I am here.

tegkid 02-26-2009 01:29 PM

you can't find them yourself?
theyre pretty obvious.

i had to reread that paragraph 3 times just to try to figure out what you were saying.
i wasn't trying to be a dick. its just that you had a very good point in this conversation and i think you didn't communicate it well which makes it lose value.

Apparently not. The paragraph is so short, can you just point them out? I am curiously to see how I couldn't see them that way I can make it clear next time. Don't take it personal, I just want to see how bad I am with punctuations.

I don't know I don't think it was that bad of a paragraph just a little laziness with typing. I do that all the time. Is this the points you were talking about tegkid?

That's what she said :tomato:
