Drive Cycle
Hey guys, how long is the drive cycle on our cars?
I tried to pass emissions today but because I had just cleared codes the machine said OBDII not ready. They told me to complete the car's drive cycle and return. How many miles huh? |
Usually about 100 miles, may be more.
Count on between 100-150. |
You can clear the codes in about 20 miles if done correctly. Get in the car and drive it at 55mph for 2 minutes, then let off the gas and let it decellerate to 45mph. Repeat this cycle many tmes and you will work it through it's "readiness check".
You can get a small box that plugs into the OBDII and has a red light (if the codes are not set) you leave it in and drive until you get a green light. Green light means you are all set. |

How's the car running? Has it been to a dyno yet?

Thanks for the respones. I need to get through emissions as soon as possibile. The car is fine but the registration is expired becauses I haven't been able to pass the OBDII emissions test. So I'll be driving illegally while completing the drive cycle. Thanks for th tip Black Lable, I'll try it. The dyno for the car is posted under automatic cl turbo thread.
