Any info on how you mounted the front plate?

I should have taken some pics of the install...but it was kind of rushed (I got pulled over for not having my front plate on, so I had to get it on at like 10pm haha...didn't get a ticket though:tomato:)

I made a metal bracket for the back...bolted the plate to the bracket, covered all the brackets in heavy duty black tape to keep the bracket from scratching the paint at high speeds. Then I used some thick zip ties and tied it to the silver bar in the lower grill. Make sure to bend the place to go with the contour of the bumper:thumbsup:

Wish it was 92 degrees now..:whyme:

Nice choice in exterior color.

Dude tell me about it...its BRUTAL...its 29 now

I love winter (snowboarding) but I hate it at the same time.

Nice ride!

The license plate leds seem brighter on one side in the picture lol

I think they may have sent me 2 different bulbs...because one is a little purple compared to the other. Also, one has been blinking lately...haha, I might just order some new ones in the spring.

Souljah 01-09-2011 08:51 PM

Nice!

CLtotheTL32 01-09-2011 09:32 PM

Looking good Jon! What's next? A-Spec kit? :wish:

vuuha05 01-09-2011 10:14 PM

CGP always looks awesome. I agree with the others that an aspec kit will make it even more awesome, but that cold weather must make doing any mods pretty difficult...

Redsand353 01-09-2011 11:03 PM

that looks really good, i would have never thought of putting the lip spoiler in that location, it looks great! I really need to get to work with my car, I bought it in July as well and so far only 20% tints. :what:

Possibly...but I am getting the impression that they don't sell these kits painted in CGP?

Yea the weather has been brutal...we're expecting another 6-12" tomorrow night:ugh:

Haha...I started out hot, but I've cooled off on the mods. I want to pick up some 19s and some springs soon. I've also been considering some ASpec wheels, they are soooo clean.

Redsand353 01-10-2011 08:21 AM

Yeah pretty sure my next mod is going to be a set of type-s wheels, but I have to stop spending money on my Jeep first. btw, i checked out your build thread for the mustang, that car is HOT!

Thanks man, I've had the stang since I was 16...a lot of work has gone into that car, I have big plans for it in the spring (motor swap, new wheels, etc)....its tough having 2 cars that you want to mod, I'm trying to keep the TL practical:tomato:

aubreys dad 01-10-2011 10:17 AM

YEah, Tpye S wheels will make your TL look real nice.

Of course they do. Just keep in mind the 2004-2006 A-Spec kit is different than the 2007-2008 A-spec kit.

Your car looks nice. I love CGP.

Trendzero 01-10-2011 05:21 PM

Very nice start!

Good...I think it was a member who got a typeS A Spec kit and had it repainted (no CGP Type S of course)...and when I ordered my lip spoiler off ebay, the seller said he didn't sell it painted in CGP. I dunno, I just got some bad first impressions.

I found some H&R Sport Springs that I'll be picking up off my buddy when he turns in his TL (lease)...and possibly his Sarona roof spoiler.

Either 19s or 18" A Spec wheels will be replacing the stockers once I run through these tires:thumbsup:

My opinion doesn't change haha...I hate the type S wheels:dunno:

Inaccurate 01-10-2011 09:11 PM

I like those last three pics showing your TL "in action". I always been the type to appreciate a workhorse...... a pretty workhorse in this case. :D

Steven Bell 01-10-2011 09:18 PM

Nice progress Jon. An Aspec Kit and Type S wheels will do you good.

It's been one hell of a workhorse at that...I've put 10k on the car in 6 months commuting to work...:what:

This Type S wheel talk must cease!

JonBeast 01-13-2011 02:50 PM

So I've been thinking about doing my roof gloss black...

The guy who tinted my car quoted me $200 to do the vinyl roof...thoughts? The price seems steep to me, but I don't want to paint it...

JonBeast 01-20-2011 08:05 AM

Thoughts on these wheels? Rotiform 19x8.5 +35, More pics here: http://rotiform.com/media_customer_car_gallery.htm

I chopped them onto chinook's car..

I love those wheels! I would rock them all day long!

CLtotheTL32 01-20-2011 09:30 AM

 Those wheels are hawt! I've never heard of them but I like!

BUT you need a drop first ;)

No worries...I have some H&R Sport Springs in the works come springtime.

These wheels look awesome when the car is slammed on its face, but I think I can pull them off with a conservative drop (TL is the daily mule). We'll see :wish:

CLtotheTL32 01-20-2011 01:52 PM

I checked out the website and it seems like only Audi's and BMWs run them, which doesn't bother me, but got me thinking about the bolt pattern. Do they make wheels in 5x114.3? Those Audis and such run 5x120.

Yup, here are the specs:

BLQ 19x8.5 et35|et45 5x100|5x112|5x114.3 Silver, Piano Black, Gunmetal, Machined* $299**
* custom powdercoat available for $80 per wheel
**extra $20 per wheel for non-standard bolt pattern

CLtotheTL32 01-20-2011 10:47 PM

Good :)

Damn those aren't as expensive as I thought they would be.

princelybug 01-20-2011 10:50 PM

Get the forged rims, and they are.

The machined finish isn't available until March...so I might pick some up then. Should have my springs by then too.

Anyone have pics of a TL on H&R Sport Springs?

d-townhakuzo 01-23-2011 09:04 PM

TL is real clean man. I would definitely pull the trigger on those rims. They are sick. Ever since I got the Forgestars on my car, I have a thing for ANY euro wheel, especially one like that. Keep up the good work

Thanks man...I think they are really clean and different. I'm not sure what tires to go with...I'm not going to be slammed on coilovers, so the stretched tire look isn't for me...

235/35/19s?

235/40/19s?

+H&R Sport Springs...I think it'll be a sick conservative setup.

CLtotheTL32 01-24-2011 08:39 AM

235/35/19. The 40-series sidewall will throw off the speedo and won't look right :2cents:

Cool..thanks man.

I've been going back and forth with AckTL05 on some mods. We live pretty close to each other in NJ...so I'll be bringing my TL to him for some work in a couple months.

Mods to be done by Ack:
-Custom Headlights (design not final yet)
-Custom Tailights (design not final yet)
-Yellow Film for my Fogs (I already have 3000k fogs, but the light output is white, and yellow on the road...which annoys me, so I'll get the film and make it yellow all around)
-Yellow DRLs
-07-08 A-Spec Kit

Other Mods for the Spring/Summer:
-H&R Sport Springs
-19x8.5" Rotiform BLQ's +35
-235/35/19s
-Black vinyl roof
-Type S side markers
-Window visors (maybe...still not sure how I feel about these yet)

Should be sittin pretty once I get all this done

CLtotheTL32 01-24-2011 04:20 PM

Awesome plans Jon

I think you need some ATLP in your life though ;)

Redsand353 01-24-2011 05:11 PM

you got some awesome plans lined up man, I would be right there with you...but I bought the extended bumper2bumper warranty with my car so not sure how all that works..
