A1 Service price update.

Does anyone know a great A1 service price on any of the Long Island Acura Dealerships. I usually have been good with Island Acura in Wantagh but want to know if there's anything better out there that LI RL owners know about.

I'm also about 200 miles overdue for the A1. Since I know it's not the most mandatory maintenance, I didn't think it was a big deal, but I want to know if the dealer will say otherwise to create any urgency and charge more.

Thanks again guys.

A1 is for a oil change only with is $29.95 at any honda or acura dealer. if you are like me i use synthectic Pennzoil Ultra 5w-20 from walmart for $27.99 5 qt gal. and a honda oil filter and just have my machanic change it for only $10 labor.

Go to Acura.com and see if your local dealers are offering the "fall special". If you don't have the time, nor the space nor the inclination, for $69.95 your dealer will change oil+filter, rotate tires, change the wiper inserts, wash and vacuum and inspect the car. Not bad if you can't DIY. Offer is good through the end of the month.

Dealers on Long Island have been quoting the A1 service (oil & filter change/ tire rotation & balance) between $69 & $99 which was higher than I expected. Its more than the Fall Service Special bc it also includes a wheel balance.

Now for the noob questions lol.. If I got the work done at an STS (I know of a nice one in Bellmore), would it affect my warranty with Acura since I didn't do the sheduled services at an authorized Acura dealer?
This seems like a simple enough job but would the SH-AWD make wheel alignments & balancing more difficult? Thanks again.

"Non-Dealer Service

Your warranty will not be voided by service done by someone other than an Acura dealer, provided the maintenance is performed properly. The only way your warranty may be affected by an outside service is if it can be shown that misuse or improper (or lack of) maintenance caused or contributed to the malfunction."

Thanks for that. I used to take my '98 Maxima to STS for oil changes. They use Quaker State either Conventional, Synthetic Blend, or Full Synthetic.. Are these okay for the RL as well??

Yes that is fine. i would go for the full syn if i were you. if you don't live far from the acura dealership, just go do the oil change ONLY. its like $35 dollars. you don't really have to do the wheel balance or alignment or tire rotation unless you need it. Do you feel wobble when braking at high speed, car leans towards a certain side when the wheel is straight? and check the tires yourself if they need a rotation
