How to Program Honda Key

Does anyone know if the instructions to program the acura switchblade key is the same for the Honda Keys? I am trying to program a 2005 Honda CRV key, that looks like this

program as in link the remote to the car? Or program the key to start the car? If it's the later, you need a locksmith or dealer. The former... Not sure for your model, but it's pretty easy for all Hondas/Acuras I've done.

Programming the Transmitter

I was gonna say "let me google that for you" but I feel nice...

NOTES:
• The system accepts up to three transmitters. The
transmitter codes are stored in a stacking-type
memory. If a fourth transmitter code is programmed,
the code for the first transmitter is erased.
• Entering the programming mode cancels all learned
transmitter codes, so none of the previously
programmed transmitters will work. You must
reprogram all of the transmitters once you are in the
programming mode.
• You must complete steps 1–6 within 4 seconds of
the previous step to keep the system from exiting the
programming mode.
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
2. Press the “Lock” or “Unlock” button on one of the
transmitters. (An unprogrammed transmitter can be
used for this step.)
3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
4. Repeat steps 1, 2, and 3 two more times using the
same transmitter used in step 2.
5. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
6. Press the “Lock” or “Unlock” button on the same
transmitter. Make sure the power door locks cycle
to confirm that the system is in programming mode.
7. Within 10 seconds, press the “Lock” or “Unlock”
button on each transmitter. Make sure the power
door locks cycle after you press each transmitter
button to confirm that the system accepted the
transmitter’s code.
8. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) to exit the
programming mode.
Ordering a Transmitter
Transmitters can be ordered only by authorized Honda
dealers. Order them from American Honda using
normal parts ordering procedures.
Batteries for the Transmitter
The battery number is CR2025. Each transmitter uses
one battery.

 I have two switchblade keys for my Accord.

I apologize for not being clear. I am trying to program the key so that it will disengage the immobilizer on the vehicle.

I want a remote start installed on the vehicle but the shop that is doing it says they need an extra key to put in a box that will allow the computer to disengage the immobilizer. They say that having the key in the box will result in more accurate starts.

The second route is to have them program a box with my keys that will not need an extra key, but they state that it may not start in cold weather all the time.

Sorry to confuse you all.

All i need is a key that is programed to immobilize the immobilizer...haha! It doesn't even have to be cut!

awesome v6accord2k5. So I guess the steps are identical to the ones for the acuras!

You need a locksmith or a dealer who can program the key...

Scrib, should I just buy the key from the dealer and call a locksmith to program/cut it?

You can buy the key through ebay...

You do not need to get the key cut if its just gonna sit in the box, although you might as well get it cut since Acura/Honda dealerships cut keys for free (but dont confuse that with programming the immobilizer chip, they charge big bucks for that).

If you have a blank Honda/Acura key you dont need, all you need is the immobilizer chip from that key to sit in the box. If you have a working valet key, you can also use that since all it is is a key with an immobilizer chip inside the plastic.

edit: also the instructions I posted are to program the REMOTE part of the key, not the immobilizer chip.
