Windshield wipers not going all the way down
When I turn my wipers off they do not do back all the way down. They stop 1-3 inches short. If I hit the tap mist lever then I can usually get them to return to the full down position. 04 TL, any thought or fixes???

Bump. Nobody else is/has experienced this???

Are the nuts tight that hold them securely to the motor assembly? I can't imagine how they'd break lose but ya never know.
Best of luck. :) |
are you opening the door before they complete their cycle, that could cause it to stop. Kind of like your windows. You can turn off the car and still roll the windows up and down, but once the door is opened then the windows stop. Maybe thats what you are doing. opening the doors before the cycle is complete. Just me two cents.

According to vin; your dealer may be able to tell if your car is affected for the Wiper Motor Recall. (SB#: 08-013)
I'd go into it in more detail; but my computer is having some...technical difficulties? :whyme: |
project has a good point

Had the wiper recall done years ago. Nothing to do with the doors or windows only operate the wipers when I am driving. I'll check the nuts tomorrow but I can't see that being the problem because like I said if I tap the mister they return all the way down. With 158000 miles its not the end of the world just drives me crazy!!!!

Only thing i can think of is one of the rods for the wiper transmission may be dislodged when coming down? affecting the placement and "parking" of the blades.

2005 tl, just had the recalled wiper motor replaced (I didn't want too, the dealer recommended it) and have a similar problem. wiper park is 3 inches above where it use to be. brought it back, the couldn't (wouldn't) fix it. they said "that's the way 2005 tls are". which is balony. did they just install the motor incorrectly? or do they just not know how to readjust them. the wipesr go all they way down and up, just when the wipers "park" they do it 3 inches above the lowest point they cycle through. this is driving me crazy too.

just fixed this myself. the wiper motor was installed wrong. the wipers were "parked" incorrectly. basically the motor axil was attached to the wiper assembly off by a few degrees. idiot acura service person who installed the wiper motor. idiot acura service person who couldn't, or more likely wouldn't, fix it.

Same issue here.
I put the wipers up last night to keep them from freezing. Cleaned everything off and this happened. Thought maybe there was ice in there not letting them park so I took hot water and cleaned everything out. They stop where they normally stop at the bottom when they are on. Once you stop the wipers completely they just stay there. They won't go down below like they used to. What should I check? 2006 RL with 125000 miles. |
My wipers are basically doing the samething. Not stoping all the way as it should. I read up on this thread and can't really figure out the heck is wrong with it. If I can't do this myself, does anyone know how Acura charges to fix this problem "if" they can?
