MDX Navi DVD disk reading error Unformatted
My Navi is now giving me the Unformatted message.:ugh:
I removed the unit and sent to Alpine for repair along with the $185 flat rate check. Got it back a week later. Alpine says they didn't fix it, returned my check and said that since it was a 2001 Navi system they no longer stock parts so I was out of luck! Acura wants $3,000 for a new unit! The dealer said to try to find one on Ebay. Has anyone else on the forum replaced their Navi unit with success?? 2001 MDX, original owner. |
Are you looking for a Navi ECM? What part exactly needs to be replaced?

55,
I don't know what part needs replacing. The navi disk will actually boot up and work about 1 out of 6 times. Would that be the disk reader? If it needed cleaning I am surprised Alpine didn't do that instead of returning it to me saying there are no longer any parts. |

Here is a replacement screen and drive: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2001-...fAudioQ5fVideo Comparing that ebay link to this site: http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...All&vinsrch=no You can see $449 for the screen/drive is better than the $4000+ this site is asking! |
thanks 55. Sorry I went offline for awhile. But I'll look to see if that is still on ebay. Not sure how I would protect myself if it doesn't work.
