2004 TSX-Battery died now need code for radio/cds (lost code!) What to do?

Hi there, just googled my Acura TSX problem and this forum website came up so I decided to make an account! :)

Title of the thread sums up my situation more or less. Bought the car in 2004 from a Nissan dealership, it then had a manual, the code, etc etc. However, I've been working outside of California as of late. Came back to a dead battery, no prob, fixed that up with ease but I have lost my little manual thing which had a code stickied to the front. This happened once before and I input the code no prob and it was all good. However, making drives to cities without music is becoming...well, incredibly frustrating ;o/

So I called the local dealership here in Palm Springs/Cathedral City and they said to bring it in as they may have it on file (this is where I brought it last time when I had this same issue). I highly highly highly doubt this as it was basically a 3-5min procedure and I do not recall them having anything on file (note this conversation was over the phone with a sales rep of theirs, not the service center. when he transferred me to the service center no one picked up the phone).

Soooo...wtf do I do?

Hope everyone had a great week and I would appreciate any and all input. I will be the first to say I'm a total noob when it comes to cars.

Well, you will need the dealer's intervention with this. They normally do not do codes over the phone because of possible theft of the item. Hopefully the previous owner registered the codes with Acura online.

did a little research-googled acura-retrieve radio code-they have a website on how to do it.

Ah, thanks dude, that helped for sure.

So I got the VIN easily enough, and the contact info on file.

Now it says I need the serial #

Serial Number Retrieval Help

There are several places to find your device's serial number:
The Radio/Navigation Code and the device unit's serial number are listed on the anti-theft ID card that comes with the vehicle. The card is usually placed in the glove box at the time of delivery.

'several places'...lol? That doesn't seem like several to me. And if I had that card, I would be making this thread! ;x

Any ideas for that portion?

If the radio is the unit that the factory installed, then there is a sticker on the left side of the glove box wall which has the unlock code. (This code will not unlock a replacement radio). I seem to recall there are a couple of numbers on the sticker - the 5-digit one is the radio unlock code.

I just recently blew a fuse and had to do the same thing cuz the code in the manual from the previous owner did not work, i called the original dealership from where he bought it and they were able to look up the new code it had cuz the whole system was apparently replaced. Just an idea. It worked right away

I had the same problem few years ago. I could not find the sticker in the glove box and the stealership wanted $100+ to retrieve the code because it requires them to take apart your dash to read the serial number on the back of the unit to retrieve your radio code. I ended up taking apart my dash myself to get the serial code. Then I went to the Acura website, entered in this code, and it gave me my radio code. Hope this helps.

I bought my car used, and there's a plastic card (same size as a credit card) with the radio code printed on it. It was in the little card pocket that's attached to the owners manual. Sooo.... this is a really dumb question, but have you looked in the little card pocket for your radio code card? Yes I know this is a dumb place to keep it.
