my radio was displaying "code" now "err 3"??????????

guys my battery died because i left the headlights on  . i got it jumped. my radio spit the cd out i had in it. i turned it on and it said "code" i pushed some buttons thinking the code might be a generic 111 or something. that wasn't it. now it says err 3. turning the car off and back on again does nothing. i've pushed all the buttons. its probably some security feature but who the hell would steal a stock acura radio? how do i get my radio working again

the code may be in your paperwork with your manual and stuff like that if not write down your VIN and call the dealership they will give it to you

I had the same problem recently. The dealer had me pull my radio out and give them the serial number from the radio, so they could give me the code.

shineynitelite 12-03-2004 08:03 PM

oh yeah.. maybe it was the serial code not the vin number.. damn it.. :dunno:

ya i'll call the dealer down the street.. i was hopin someone would have a solution so i could have music tonight.. oh well. thing is i have that error now and i don't know if it can be reset so i could even enter a code?! thanks marco

The code should be on a card in your paperworks. Try looking through your manuals to see if the card is in there. Or go to an Acura Dealer with your VIN and they'll give you the code. Just unplug your battery and plug it back in, it'll reset the deck and it'll ask you for the code again. Basically the error is for safety issues since you probably entered in the wrong code a couple times

unplug my battery? take off the negative charge and put back on. that would reset my radio right

Yeah or just take off the radio fuse and put it back on. The code should be in your owners manual pouch thing it looks like a credit card and its white.

Check underneath the ash tray for the code too.
