Navigation hack for orange disk 3.a0 (all files here)

Hi everyone,

So my relationship with Acurazine has been completely one sided, as in I take take take, and never give! So with that said I thought I'd put this up here to help everybody out who's had some struggles with this.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6W2J0YG0

The link above points to a zip file that includes the following files:
BN2HH12C.BIN
BNHH401A.BIN
BN2HHMLD.BIN
dumpnavi.exe

I included both BN2HH12C.BIN and BNHH401A.BIN...depending on your Nav you'll have to upload your image to one of those files when uploading using dumpnavi.

To find out which file your car is running do the following:

1. Turn your car's ignition to ACC
2. When the nav loads completely press and hold "GUIDE" "MENU" and "CANCEL" for approx 5 seconds to bring up the diagnostic menu.
3. Wait another 5 seconds to let it load up completely. Press "version" button on the screen.
4. Hold down the "MENU" button until you get a new window displaying what .bin you are running. Write this down so you dont forget.

Next...
Get back to your computer and open up "dumpnavi".

1. For your Bootable File, select the .bin that applies to your car (mine was NHH401A.BIN).
2. Make sure "Modify Bitmap" is checked and upload your custom background.
3. Make sure to uncheck "Modify Nag Screen". These files already include the nag screen and ok button bypass hacks.
4. Click "Modify"

You should all be set now.

Burn your files on to a CD/DVD. I used a DVD-R. I have no idea if you can use a CDR or DVD+R. I think some have used CDR's

This is important! you have to make an ISO disk. I think a lot of people run into issues because they don't do this.

Your ISO disk only needs the file you modified (in my case BNHH401A.BIN) and BN2HHMLD.BIN

Once you're done all this get back to your car and do the following (taken from the Navigation Hack Guide):

1. Turn your car's ignition to ACC
2. Open the trunk and pop out the NAVI disk (if it's in there)
3. Insert your newly burned CD.
4. Go back to the driver seat, the display will show some dvd read error, now press and hold "GUIDE" "MENU" and "CANCEL" for approx 5 seconds to bring up the diagnostic menu.
5. Wait another 5 seconds to let it load up completely. Press "version" button on the screen
6. Press "LOAD DISC" to load your custom bin into the navigation.
7. Wait until it's completely done and it will then display another error message about can't read the navi dvd, now take out your bin CD and insert your Navigation disc and you are done!

If you follow exactly what I wrote above this NEEDS to work. It's exactly what I did and it worked perfectly.

You'll have your custom background, trip computer, ok bypass and no nag screen.

I decided to make a post for this because things seem to be buried in the main navigation hacking guide. Thought this would be helpful.

Thank you!

djspot 11-11-2011 10:27 PM

No problem...

Forgot to mention, this also includes the Trip Computer

Trunk Monkey 11-12-2011 10:36 AM

What programs are needed to download to do this?

djspot 11-12-2011 11:54 AM

You don't really need any programs to download. The only thing you would need to download I included in the zip file. That would be the dumpnavi program.

Other than that, you'll need burning software thats capable of creating iso disks, and possibly photoshop or something else in which you can create your background image. You do have some options for this, a bunch of members on here have uploaded backgrounds.

clsdave 11-13-2011 09:59 AM

Are the bin files from version 3.A0? If not please tell us what version they are from. I don't believe the 3.A0 or 3.B0 versions have been hacked yet and the last hacked orange version is 3.80 as far as I know.

I would like to have the correct Daylight Savings Time dates which were lost when I used hacked 3.80 files for the modification. Apparently the new dates were put into effect sometime after version 3.80. This was the secondary reason I upgraded to 3.A0 from 3.40C. The primary was of course were the maps.

I would sure like to have a navi that always has the correct time and keep my custom background, trip computer, ok bypass and the no nag screen.

And thanks for helping others out!

aspectl253 11-13-2011 11:32 AM

unable to download from link??

djspot 11-13-2011 04:39 PM

They're not from my 3.a0 disk. My time and date are correct.

I'm going to give the 3.a0 files a try when I get the chance. I just wanted something quick I knew would work.

If you're only worry is the time, if its effected by this being the 3.8 files, changing it manually isn't a big thing, I don't think.

Also, just tested the link. it is working for me

triax37 11-13-2011 08:36 PM

djspot - just want to clarify one point:

3. Make sure to uncheck "Modify Nag Screen". These files already include the nag screen and ok button bypass hacks.

So you've already made the nag screen and ok button changes to the files* in the zipped folder?

* Files:
BN2HH12C.BIN
BNHH401A.BIN
BN2HHMLD.BIN

yes, they already include the changes, they're the files from the 3.80 hack.

Thanks WLZRSX.

Ya I basically just compiled files that I found from other threads and put it into this.

i didn't actually do any work to these files myself. my goal was just to have this in one easy place to find.

Noted...and appreciated. Props to AngryDad and kennyc for all of their work as well, but I admit my brain was lazy to process everything in kennyc's stickied thread (linked). Thanks to djspot, my ISO disk is burned and I'll be hacking away this evening! :wish:

djspot: what program are you using to create the iso disk??

Thanks

djspot 11-15-2011 10:48 AM

I used Nero to burn my ISO disc.

For a long time I used IMGburn to create ISO disks http://www.imgburn.com/

Should work fine, and its free.

d5civic 11-15-2011 11:12 PM

files are gone from the link...well temporarily unavail.

link to download still works for me

d5civic 11-16-2011 12:17 AM

Eh? I just tried right now and it still says file are temporarily unavailable try again later...

djspot 11-16-2011 10:29 AM

Hi guys,

just looking into my Megaupload account...it showing it being unavailable for me as well. Stupid megaupload...if I can't get it going, I'll uploaded to another file sharing service. I'm thinking the downloads may be capped. It's at 68 downloads.

djspot 11-16-2011 10:35 AM

Looks like its up and running again.

I sent them an email asking why this is happening...I'll get back to you guys with an answer.

So seeing as this has had 68 downloads I wonder if its working for anybody. Haven't got any feedback on it working or not, so if you've downloaded and applied the hack let us know if it worked for you.

Thanks!

aspectl253 11-16-2011 02:51 PM

i downloaded yesterday and it worked for me. After months and months of trying to figure this out.

Big Thanks to you djspot.....

djspot 11-16-2011 03:11 PM

Thanks...I cant take the credit for the work though AngryDad and kennyc did amazing work with this...

I just thought it would be awesome to have the info consolidated, especially for the new versions.

I'm glad it worked for you!

Hammer5312 11-16-2011 05:17 PM

so what is the purpose of doing the "Nav Hack"?

I just got my TL just a couple of days ago and am still learning.....

djspot 11-17-2011 09:56 AM

A few things...

Megaupload support got back to me....they let me know if we get that temporary file is unavailable message, it means the server that the file is on may be down and usually gets resolved shortly after, within an hour or so. So if you get that message just check back later....

Also...as far as using imgburn...I think I messed up, I think that software only burns iso files.

so I found this
http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/arch..._with_nero.cfm

It would have you downloading a trial version of Nero ROM or the Nero suite. From their you'd follow the instruction for burning an image.

Nero or any other burning software seems to be bundled with every computer.

Oh and Hammer...the hack allows you to throw up your own customized splash screen for the nav. Also, it eliminates having to press the ok button and doesn't give you the navigation use disclaimer....AAANNNDDD you get a fancy little Trip Computer.

Yep, I downloaded your files, burned an ISO using ImgBurn, and everything worked perfectly. Thanks to everyone for your AZ contributions!

Thanks djspot! I know others have put a lot of hard work into this but this made it easy to do. I used imgburn and it worked just fine! I added this to my wife's '06 TL as the start up image:
Attachment 117327

djspot 03-21-2012 08:33 PM

updated link since "The Man" got to Megaupload

https://rapidshare.com/files/1331935...vi-gui-new.zip

Unfortunately, I can not for the life of me find the original zip file that BN2HH12C.BIN file. However, if your nav uses this and not the bin ending in 401A, you can simply copy this bin file from you nav disk.

Shoeface 03-22-2012 12:24 PM

Thanks for the new upload!

yah yah 04-21-2012 01:03 AM

do i just drag and drop the BN2hh1c file from the disk to the computer? It says file has sucessfully been moded but do not know where it is at to burn the image.

yah yah 04-21-2012 03:28 AM

Okay i got the start up image to work, my own background but i went into setup/info where is the A/C, TRIP mod ??? that was mainly what im looking to hack. please help thank you

Backup Download

Do you have a backup download site since mega was taken down? Has anyone figured out which files on the nav disc upgrade are actually updated?

Look about 4 posts up, he uploaded it to RapidShare.

żGotJazz? 04-25-2012 02:17 PM

OK ... My Navi runs the orange 3.80 disk, and my boot file is BN2HH12C.BIN - Which is the file that djspot unfortunately lost.

So, if I copy the BN2HH12C.BIN file from my stock DVD, should I enable the "Modify Nag Screen" checkbox, since my version of BN2HH12C.BIN is not hacked yet?

Thanks,

żGotJazz? 04-25-2012 02:37 PM

Well, I couldn't seem to get this to work on my BN2HH12C.BIN file.

When I enabled the "Modify Nag Screen", I got a "Nag modification is not supported on your car" message.

When I tried to modify the bitmap, I saw an "Invalid .XIP" file.

:(

żGotJazz? 04-25-2012 11:34 PM

For those of you with a Version 3.80 (Orange Disk) Navi and bootloading BN2HH12C.BIN file (required!), I have a solution for you here: https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...postcount=1634

Cheers!

:)

Does this hack have AC controls etc..

lonestar3 08-13-2012 04:45 PM

Is there an easy way to change the background photo using the link provided?

Don't think my wife would appreciate the "welcome jorge" screen.

Other than that, many thanks.

350 11-18-2012 01:47 PM

Thanks for this, I tried it today and I only got the image to work, still have the nag button and no trip computer. My disc is the 3.B0, can anyone help me out or have any input?

Ccvn0 11-18-2012 11:30 PM

crod147 11-23-2012 03:02 PM
