CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!?? I've been searching my ass off for the switchback Led's. I need to know if anyone knows what type I need for '06 TL. I've read so many different things about different types. 30 led tower, 18 led tower, 28 led tower etc etc... I know I need the 7443 type and I know what kind of load resistor to get but the website has so many different types of 7443 leds. I have no problem making some modifications to the housing if I need to. Can anyone lead me toward the right led to buy please and thank you.

I went to v-leds.com and ordered the following:
7443_48_SMT_WA_6K Type 1 Switchbacks 48LED
LOAD_RES_60HM Resistors
The Type 1 will shine white for the parking lights and alternate between amber and white when the turn signal is activated.
Type 2 only shines amber when turning.

LOAD_RES_60HM Resistors

All the research I've done indicates they are a straight replacement for the 48LED units. You have to install resistors, too.

Thanks for your help dwb993

finally got the 60smt LEDs. AO they look way brighter then the 48 or the 38.. the only thing is price. v-leds.com has them only for other bulb size but no 7443 and they are $39.99 for a set and $8.49 shipping. but superluminations has them at $29.99ea and they have free shipping. but still awsome. will try to post pics soon.

be very careful with 60 led from superlumination, myself and others have had very bad experiences with these lights dying extremely early
this quote is an email directly from superlumination, i recommend the 48 leds from v-leds, but 48 led from superlumination should be okay as well.
Hi Mike
We are seeing compatibility issues with the TLs and the 3157 Switchbacks. I would suggest using the 48 SMT Switchback instead.
If that works for you, please return both and I will exchange for the 48 Switchbacks.

Smaller diameter LED connection pins fitting well into the connector housing
I installed my Switchback LEDs on my Base 2008 TL over a year and a half ago and all is going well except for the thin LED legs/pins cause one turn signal to work intermittently. Does anyone have a solution to make the smaller diameter connection pins fit well into the bulb connector housing?
Before JNC cleared out my headlights I was worried about getting a ticket for not having orange reflective material in my headlights. I've only been pulled over once in the last 1.5 years and the officer gave me a ticket for tinted windows and didn’t say anything about the headlights.
Below are current links for the LEDs I ordered and a link to images of them installed. I soldered the 50 Watt, 6 Ohm resisters instead of using the supplied plastic housing that bites into the wiring.
V-LEDs dual color white/amber 7443_48_SMT_WA2 parking/turn signal bulbs 7443 $39.99

and 2 LED turn signal blinker fix 50W 6 Ohm load resistors 7443 or 1157 $7.29

I've had my switchbacks and cleared JnC headlights on for a little over 2 weeks now.
I have the V-LEDs 48LED Type1 Switchbacks (AW in Autolumination tems).
I was able to do some experimentation with them since I dropped the OEM bulb while installing my Amp'd emblem and broke the filament. JnC's headlights had not yet arrived, so I installed the switchbacks into the OEM headlights temporarily. I was pleasantly surprised at the results. The white LEDs behind the OEM amber diffuser cast a nice pale yellow light that matched my Nokya Yellow DRLs very nicely, yet the amber turn signals were a nice deep amber color.
Turn signal activated:
So I received JnC's headlights and installed them. I chose to go with the V2 blackout, painted fog bulb cover and partial amber diffuser with CF overlay. Understand that by clearing the diffuser you will lose a lot of light thrown to the sides. The LEDs look great from the front, though.
I also took the time to black out the bulb with a Sharpie---makes it less noticeable in the housing, I think:
Wags21: The total cost depends on what you want to do with the lights. I also chose to replace the lenses with ZKW-Rs and the bulbs with Phillips 85122+, so that added to the cost. If you can find someone local to do it, that's great because it will save the shipping charges to/from JnC.
SBR291: Keep us posted on your results with the 60LED towers. I really want more lights on the switchbacks to compensate for the lack of diffuser. But $60 for bulbs that fail prematurely is not my idea of value. I hope they get the reliability issue figured out soon.

Guys, I also had problems with the 60 bulb LED's from AutoLumination.com. I've got the 30's and all is well so far.

If you mean me, yes I had the orange sidemarkers in my original OEM headlights. The first few pics of post #180 are the original lights. The last pics are of the JnC modified headlights. JnC is the Headlight guru on AZ---do a search and you will find his thread detailing all of his work.

My resistors and switchbacks come in near the end of this week. I can't wait to get everything installed. I guess instead of removing the headlight, I can just move over the inner fender well and access it there.
BTW-Looks great! I won't have to do the solder part b/c I ordered mine from VLED.

Phambam, that particular pic is with the amber diffusers still in the headlights and the switchback bulbs installed. Now that my lights have been cleared, the parking light/turn signal is all white. The VLED switchbacks are advertised as 6000K, but they match well with my 5000K HIDs in the lower fogs. Here is a pic with the headlights cleared:
d-town, You can access them thru the fenderwell if you have to, but I was able to reach behind the bulbs from above to get to mine. There will be a gray plastic piece that detaches from the harness and holds the bulb. I recommend a small dab of hot glue or similar to hold the bulb in the plastic piece---you don't want your switchbacks falling into the headlight housing. Believe me, I know this first hand.

d-town, I ordered all of my stuff from vleds too. Resistors/bulbs. I went in through the fender well, which is the easiest IMO. I didn't glue mine into the socket at all, they were already pretty snug so I didn't feel the need.
You will feel a thing wiring harness going into the signal bulb socket, just unclip it then twist the socket out and pull Did you get the V1 or V2?
