is it true for the 07 tl type-s, the front signal lights are 1157, and rear are 7443? I was looking at the site: http://autolumination.com/1156_1157.htm and sorry to sound inexperienced, but which do I buy? Which one fits stock housing, how much LED's is a good amount, and do I buy the dual circuit?

HELP! switchbacks are installed with resistors. Parking lights work fine (white). Emergency lights work great too you can see them switch white to amber, amber to white etc (normal speed). However, when you signal, its a total different story. The lights flicker WAYYYY to fast. prob 2-3 times per second. Is this normal? Did something go wrong with installation? I tried all 3 wires, positive, negation, and parking lights... still going way to fast..

how did you wire in the load equalizer/resistor ?

I think it's an error in the install of the load equalizer... One side of it goes to the black (negative) then the other side goes to the blinker wire (possitive)...

Good Luck...

What's up with the search option lately? I had to used google and search it..

Anyways, big problem guys.. tell me if you've experienced something similar.

So recently, I noticed my left switchback doesn't lit up completely. What I mean is, it's very very dim. With the parking lights on, signaling would only show white flickering. You can barely and I mean barely see the yellow. It's get weirder, my audio sounds works, but accessing it by pushing the "audio" button doesn't do anything. The other buttons like "Menu, Map, Cancel" all work just not the audio. Okay, it get's even more problematic... my rear camera doesn't work either.

So the night this happened, I figured.. it's too dark so I would just bother with it in the morning. Turned the car on... no problems, switcback, audio, and rear view camera all back to normal. Checked the connection on the switchback and they were fine.

The same evening, problem happened again. Restarted the car after 10 minutes of letting it sit.. and it was fixed.

What do you guys say to that?

I just bought some LEDs that look like they'll fit (H120xW85xD20mm stated on the package) and they have two resistors and a diode within the bulb. I bought them at autobacsusa.com in Stanton, CA for $27 each. The Ohinata 7443/T20 LED Orange 21/5W Bulb is made in Japan and I can't read any of the characters on the package.

Before I install them, do any of you know of switchback LEDs that fit without mods and blink at normal rates for a base '07-'08 (w/7443 turn signal bulbs)? Thanks!

you're looking for the 30LED 7443 Switchbacks. You will have to install resistors to get the blink rate back to normal though. Easiest place is in the trunk tapped into the rear (yes rear) turn signal wires. They are on the same circuit as the front.

get the 30s not the NEW 48s.... since those have a seperate line for each color, while the 30s are both colors in 1

Thanks for the autolumination 7443 link! I didn't really want to mess w/the electrical system (i.e. the load resistors and grounding wire) but white running lights are too tempting. Especially considering my bumper is off, the lights are being cleared/blacked-out. That and I'm not sure if the internal resistors in the Ohinata OH-117 bulbs will make them blink at a normal speed. I'll put the hazards on and roll down my limo-tint windows if I get pulled over.

They now sell these bulbs in the correct diameter that the headlights don't have to get modified...

all you have to do is remove and replace... so easy that a caveman can do it...

Switchbacks installed....my hazards blink normally, but the blinkers are speedy. Can I just install a more powerful flasher or do I need the resistors?

Quick question. I'm gonna install my switchbacks tomorrow...

For the load resistors, do I just install them in series with the REAR signal wire? Cut wire, insert load resistor, clamp?

Also, does the load resistor need to be mounted? If so, where is the best place to mount and with what? Do they heat up? I read somewhere on the 2G forum that it melted thru someone's trunk liner!

so what happened was i was a stop light, and i was making a left turn, so i turn on my signals. then i make a left turn after the light turns green, and bammm he was tail gaiting me running my plates. then lights flash, i pull over and this is what happened.

Officer: How are you guys doing tonight?
Me and Frankie02: We are doing great, how about you?
Officer: I'm doing good. Thanks for asking. Reason why I pulled you over was because your turn signals was flashing Blue and Amber. It is illegal to have flashing blue lights on your car. Did you not know that?
Me: No, I'm sorry officer, I didnt know that. These are my temps because my regular turn signals just burnt out on me tonight.
Officer: Alright, may I see your registration, license, and insurance information please.
Me: I hand over my registration to the officer
Officer: Thank you, i'll be right back.
Me and Frankie think to our selfs, why are we being pulled over for my switchbacks blinking amber.. i mean, they arent blinking blue... they dont even look blue. more like of a coool white to me...
Officer comes back: I have to get going but drive safe, and get those replaced as soon as you can.

He drives off...

I'm still thinking to myself, wtf, why was i pulled over for legal turn signals... i mean looking in your pictures of the switchbacks turned on, they look like how mine are turned on... and i didnt want to say anymore so i was playing it cool.... GAY though...

so yeah there is the story.

^ That sucks. I passed by a couple cops with my switchbacks and turned in front of a couple. No issues yet. *knock knock*

I haven't installed the resistors yet so my shit blinks fast. I kinda like it but I think it may start to annoy me in a week. Haha

I just put mine in. It was pretty simple. Find your blinker wires (the 2 going into the top plug on a 3G), clamp one end of the resistor to each wire and you are done. Took about 10 minutes. The hardest part was holding the trunk liner down. Stupid thing kept popping up when I was trying to push the clamps together. lol

As far as burning the liner...I was able to push the resistors all the way against the body, close to the clear tube. I am not worried about them burning through.
