My man!! How are things?!? Hope all is well and hope to see you guys at a gathering soon!! Question about these covers as I'm going to pick some up, I READ that break changes can be done without removal of the cover, but i also READ that the dealer will take off the covers. What is true, as I don't want to pay install to someone to put them on for me, and then have to get them reapplied when I need to get my brakes done.

LMAO.... Know anyone who can install these for me when I buy them? Yes im sure its easy... No I dont do labor.... LOL

Since it was said that to do brake pads the covers dont need to come off... What about if you are changing out your rotors? Just trying to understand when they might ever need to come off, since they get stuck on with RTV.

I can surely tell you for the rotor change the cover DOES NOT need to come off. If you mount like me.

Yup - it depends on how you mount it. I have mine mounted the same way as OP and no problems changing brake parts.
Just be SUPER careful to the caliper after you remove it, as if you rest the caliper on the control arm or rotor, you will scratch the paint on the caliper cover, and it will rust.

Finally completed this mod. It was a little challenging getting the covers to sit in a way that they would look the best, but once that was done, used the RTV and they are on there really good. This subtle mod adds to the overall look! Doesnt really draw attention to the calipers but makes them look better then without the covers. Thanks guys, appreciate all those that do these mods and help others!!

Looks good. I wonder if RTV is the best way to glue it since calipers tend to heat up pretty quickly. Maybe copper silicone, the one used on exhaust gaskets?

^I used black rtv and that's it. They've been on there for three years so so? No problems at all.

The RTV doesn't feel stable when you first put it on, but 2 hours later you know that it won't mess up. Just got StopTech rotors and pads put on, mechanic had no problem doing it with the covers on there either.
