Haha no way man. I've just been driving the crap out of it and putting in unleaded 89 gas. I'm just driving it for a couple more weeks and I will be shipping it to Dubai where they don't care about the condition or mileage. Its smooth and powerful as hell though!

Quan...you nailed it. I have a set of OEM Type S's in my attic for this very reason. I don't want to feel or seem like a wanna be type S. Plus, EVERYONE loves the type S tails so they got played out. Now, I see them and I'm like Meh. So back with the oem reds, or clear or smoked...maybe one day I'll do base 07's with the smoked diffuser. Kinda like that look too.

Thanks! Wow what a compliment!
Not a whole lot to report lately guys. Been really busy with classes starting up and what not. Also bought a few random cars that have been fun to drive around.
The TL is on chill mode for the time being because of my insurance dilemmas. More info in this thread:

Those new tails look so good...I might have to jump on that mod eventually. Thanks for the updates, Q! Always fun seeing what Lexuses (Lexi?) you find!

I took a trip up to NYC this past weekend with some relatives and stuff and put some good miles on an 05 Avalon Limited. Damn that thing was sweet. That car had some awesome features; SEAT COOLERS which were fun, navigation, push button start, smart key (walk up and it unlocks), rear reclining seats etc etc. Three of my passengers were passed out in the backseat it was so comfortable lol. Ended up getting about 28 MPG in that too.
I left that avalon parked in NYC that Sunday near central park for a few hours. As I walked up to it someone sideswiped it and broke the side view mirror. He asked me what I wanted to do and I took him to an ATM machine and got 300$. Pretty cool since I didn't have any plans of fixing it...but the glass went back in no problem and still moved up and down... lol. The turn signal even still worked!! Ended up shipping it as is.
Here are some pics
Took them all down at once to drop them off at the shipping facility to be loaded.
Haha if I were to sell you'd be the first to tear into the part out.

LOL. I can't sell it, I have too much invested. I'm just frustrated at the moment.
I'm debating on getting a dealer tag though which would help. I could drive with it on my car and drive with it on any other car that I buy for export. For 200$ a month including registration and liability insurance, its not a bad deal at all. Would also grant me access to dealer auctions although I already have that through a different connection.
Here's a pic I snapped in the driveway. I've started parking in my driveway lately since I realized I can actually get in without extreme angles. I guess that means I just need to go lower. lol...I haven't adjusted it since Glenn and I did the install about a month ago.

Well I finally managed to finish a mod that's been a month in the making, since I've been super lazy.
Swapped in a Type-S 3.5!!!!
Just the cover though
I know its kind of a lame mod, but I always liked the Type-S cover better than the base one. It covers up the ugly coil packs and had the Acura "A" front and center. Love it.
I got it in the BM for 40 bucks shipped and paid another 15$ shipped for the bracket (the 04-06 engine cover bracket will not work here) so it was worth $55 to me. New these parts would cost about 150$ which is definitely not worth it IMO. Its a little more scratched up than I was expecting, but for 55$, I can't complain. I'll most likely paint it gloss black or the same silver when I get around to it and yes, I will get rid of the "3.5." My car is enough of a poser with its Type-S everything else
For anyone thinking about doing this mod, you can see here how the stock 04-06 bracket has 3 "Screws" from the engine cover to the bracket. The Type-S only has two on the far ends, so you'll need the new bracket. Luckily its a direct bolt on, just unscrew the old one and replace with the new. 5 minute job; no real "Retrofitting" necessary.

Hey Q! What's up man. I love your updates, hahaha. Is it my eyes or that on the first pic there's an CAI and then on your update it was stock intake?
#339
Yup! I used to have a Fujita CAI installed but I didn't like the sound. It made a high pitched whistle when I was coasting and it eventually got on my nerves enough to the point where I went back to stock.
CAI is a waste of money IMO anyways; basically all you get is sound. My PCDS+Jpipe drain out any kind of sound it would create now anyways

Thanks Steven! Always kind words from you, brother.
Teaser content...
Well, not much of a teaser... But I picked these up late last night. These have been my dream wheels since I got the TL. I'm praying I won't have any issues. Not sure what I'm gonna do but I won't have any time until tomorrow to clean them up. I'm debating on plastidipping them white....
Now that I have these, the Works HAVE GOT TO GO!!

Thanks guys
They're pretty nice except one has some slight curbage and they came with the NITTO tires that are installed. A couple are good a couple are bad; the usual with used tires. I'm kicking myself in the ass now for selling my Rays lug nuts last week. Gotta find some new lug nuts asap. Suggestions? Looking to spend ~50$
My only complaint is that they're really weak. 18x8.5 +50. SPACERS TO THE RESCUE!
Glenn my Works have been off for a month and on the BM for a while. come get them!! Knowing you, you'll have them looking spectacular. What year is the 300? does it have nav? I may be able to get you a price on it but I think they wanted '08+

I love the works...
I'll reserve my comment on the volks since they are your dream wheel.
The lugs, I was looking at those NRG's before I got a deal on my work lugs. They're VERY unsubstantial though...I had to have 2 drilled out because I overtorqued them.

Sadly. I sold the works last night.
I was tired if the headaches or repairing them and the money I had. And I don't think I want 19s on my car anymore.
I also realized one of them STILL had a bend while the customer was looking at them. Felt like an asshole for not knowing/mentioning it beforehand. but he still bought them.
In other news, I picked and bought a set of Muteki 35mm closed end lugs with locks on eBay for 65 bucks. Thought it was a good deal and I got them in silver. Ill probably paint then black or gunmetal if the need arises.
J; that's why I sold my Rays lugnuts. I remember you we're super upset about having to pay to have yours removed and I thought if you could f* it up and not fix it yourself, I sure as hell would f*k them up an not be able to fix it myself! Sold those bishes with the quickness.
Anyways. I have something fun planned for October. Will update you guys very soon
