I have harnessed the power of the sun in my dome and map lights...
these are brighter than my custom made LEDs from last year. 48 SMD leds in each panel, and I have 4 panels total. Don't worry I put the oem cover back on after taking this pic.

Are you planning on doing a projector retrofit for your fogs? I know you've done that on some other cars. I would love to have that done if you get all the bugs worked out.
BTW, nice progress George

I had a 48 SMD panel left over from my trunk and went to put it in the map light and damn near blinded myself. Those things are WAY too bright to go in there. I am going to do a 12 or 15 panel at most.
Do you have a pic of all your led on inside your car, Komodo?
Sorry to Hi-jack your thread George.

quick photoshoot in the moutains:
So the other day I found out about these new cree leds that came out and was very excited to find out that they are the same form factor and even brighter since it has 2x the LEDs....so I'll let the pics speak for themselves, but my license plate lights are a good amount brighter than before.

What was your method for fitting a cree led in license plate light housing?
I decided to go with a 7440 bulb size since 7440 bulbs are usually brighter because they are used for turn signals and/or reverse lights. I had to attach a 7440 socket onto the stock harness in order to do this.
I hope mine lasts too! I'm not sure if these LEDs were made to be on for so long, since turn signals and reverse lights only go on momentarily. I feel that the lights get hot after I run them for awhile but it's not to the point where it'll melt anything.
