Paperboy42190's Progress Thread. '07 NBP TL-S
Thought it was about time I started a progress thread...
Feb 4th 2011, bought the car for 17.5k OTD.
here are pics from the first day
Being that I was really into headlight work, the ZKW-R lens swap was one of my first mods.
Also got an AEM V2 from my friend's 2004 accord V6
fun times in the snow(and keep in mind I had hankook v12's which are SUMMER tires)
March 2011 I got Megan SS coilovers:
July 2011 I started experiencing transmission problems, 2-3 gear flaring. Most likely caused by my 4x3 drain and fill of Redline ATF Type F
Although, reverse gear did work, not sure why it said that.
Got my transmission rebuilt at a shop in August 2011, afterwards I swear only to use Honda oem ATF, not taking any more chances.

Jan 2012 Someone hit me when backing up, their fault so their insurance paid for everything:
Fixed up in 2 weeks, plus for a free front bumper repaint for rock chips and scrapes:
Mid muffler removal:
made my own LEDs, Pirahna superflux 5mm LEDs:
Had my window smashed in May 2012:
July 2012 I custom made some door handle LEDs:
Aug 2012 I traveled to Portland, OR to meet a guy on AZine to trade for A-spec rims:
This was us doing the swap in the middle of the city:
A lot of bugs on the 2200 mile round trip drive:
Even got a bat stuck in my grille:
Got the rims powdercoated dark gunmetal not long after:
Couple days ago got a set of Michelin PS2 245/40/18, has 85-90% tread left....only $380!

Very interested in how you did the door handle LED's. Is there a thread about it somewhere?

love the a-spec wheels powdercoated.
If I wasn't so entirely sure they'd look gay as AIDS on my car instead of the chrome finish I have, I'd totally powdercoat.
I'd like to see a variety of full-body photos of the car with the powdercoat wheels.
lol @ bugs and bat

don't worry the door handle LEDs arent actually that blinding, its just because the camera was at a low angle. at normal walking height it does not blind you at all

You bought a TL-S for $17.5 out the door? WOW! How many miles did you have? Great deal bro! You're car has gone through a lot of different stuff while in your hands. Looks great! Did you end up selling your dark gunmetals?

it had 74k miles when I bought it last year. yea I did end up selling the powdercoated aspecs, I know I went through a lot of trouble for them but in the end you gotta do what you gotta do. i realized I wanted the 8.5" ones more and was lucky enough to find a set.

Hey man, I really did email him telling him you were interested but he didn't get back to me for awhile. His GF had trouble reaching him too. Then I thought about how i wanted a cheap set of rims and sell my aspecs. Then that's when bliyun finally got back to me and told me he only wanted 300 for them, whic was within my budget. Had to go through his mom and gf in order to get them. If he wanted 500+ I wouldn't have bought them. keep in mind they are really curb rashed though...some parts of the metal are sliced off from the curb rash...you gotta keep in mind that he's one of my good friends and I made it an easy transaction for his mom. She would not have been willing to ship the rims for him or meet up with strangers

Bro I even contacted you about the rims because you were vouching for him in his for sale thread and you said you'd get back to me when you heard from him so you know that I was in line for those rims. Shit you coulda even sold them to me for 400 which was what I had worked out with Brian and made some money but to snag em up in front of me is low man. Yea I know they are rashed up but I even had a guy that was goin to fix em up for me all lined up and was just waiting on a reply. Basically I hope these wheels crack or your tranny explodes cuz you made a dirty move homie..out

How does the mid-muffler delete sound? So they just cut it off and welded a new pipe in place? How much did they charge you to do that?
