I do shoot in raw. The pictures aren't very crisp because I'm using my 18-250 and not my 35mm prime lens. The glass on the 35mm is much better.

Every picture I post has been edited. I try not to over do it since I don't really know what I'm doing when editing Usually I increase the sharpness, decrease the highlights, and increase the saturation just a little.
I use my Tamron 18-250 for all car meets I attend since it's so versatile. It's not as crisp as some lenses but I love it. It's nice to have the ability to take a picture of a car right next to you or one that's far away.
I have also have a Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 and it's the best $200 I've spent photography wise. Super crisp and great in low light. I don't use it very often since it's hard to use a prime lens at a car meet with so many people walking around and getting near the cars. I really want a Nikkor 10-22 or a 12-24 but saving for them is very low on the priority list.

I really want a 24mm prime...But not paying $2000 for the 1.4
Hoping and praying one day they will make a Nikkor 24mm 1.8g
Look into the Tokina..have a new one that is 12-28mm..and half the price of the nikkor

Tyler and Chris....both your pix come out awesome....
Chris, I have a 18-55 and 55-200 Nikkor DX Vr lenses...those 2 came with the camera....I have used the 55-200 very very rarely...I use the 18-55 most of the times...and the lowest I can go is f3.5....
I might look into that 35mm prime f1.8 lens

You can see how much crisper the 35mm shots are. Plus, even with editing, the 18-250 pictures don't pop like the 35mm shots do.

No need to rush into it, Anil. I used my 18-250 for almost 3 years before getting a prime lens. I wanted something that was better in low light, that's why I pulled the trigger.
I need to keep this thread on topic so here's a shot of the TL with my 35mm. I'll be hitting 134k miles this weekend
I had to edit the crap out of that picture due to being super over exposed. You can tell by the discoloration of the front bumper compared to the rest of the body.

I need to but I don't use the lens enough to warrant the purchase. Maybe Santa will be nice to me this year.

Eh, sort of. The 911 has kept the same design but I wouldn't say that ALL Porsches look the same. The Boxster looks nothing like a 911. Don't forget about the Panamera and the Cayenne.
Thank you! I have an entry-level Nikon D3100. I have two lenses; a Nikkor 35mm and a Tamron 18-250. I do some basic editing in Adobe Lightroom 4 but I don't go overboard.

Awesome pics at the Porsche show! Your examples of your 35mm prime make me realize that I need to shoot with my 50mm prime f/1.8 lens more often...as in, I never take it out.
My last set that I took during the day I busted out my "beer can" lens, which is my older Minolta 70-210 f/4. A little big and cumbersome, but really takes some fantastic pictures.

I'm so thankful and happy I haz rolling shots. My girlfriend said she enjoyed driving my car around for a bit
KJ, I love the prime lens. I wish my 18-250 was half as crisp as my 35mm.
Here are a few more from when Austin and I met on Saturday:
His leg fetus refused to be captured via camera:
