^^^ Thx much! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I definitely did get addicted and it has been fun although my wallet has suffered but you only live once so who cares. Now I am close to where I want it with a couple small mods here and there to finish.

Nice purchase with the Aspec, that is essential to making this car look amazing. If I can offer one word of advice, try not to do all the mods at once. The fun in this is the anticipation you feel when you know your next mod is coming up. Don't do it all at once, then it gets boring fast.

Aziners, i think i had a getting old moment today. I usually have my driver's seat default memory #1 for a sporty, aggressive setting.. This setting is more upright and closer to steering wheel and stick shift for spirited driving. Memory #2 is usually reserved for a more laid back setting which i usually use for the ocasional longer, boring drive.

So for the past week i noticed i have been using Memory #2 more while driving around very calm (early braking, soft shifts, staying below 3k rpm). So i swapped that setting for #1 and the sporty setting for #2. Anyways as i was doing that i was like WTF, i must really be getting old. I really need to make it to another good meet and get my Acura cojones back. :-)

^^THx much.

So i recently did a couple light mods that got me back in love with my TL again.

1) I did the RDX brake covers on the rear brakes
I love how the rear now matches the brembos up front (the car totally needed it).

2) I put some 15mm spacers up front
I already had 20mm in the rear and i hesitated for so long for the spacers up front because i hate driving slow to avoid rubbing but i adjusted the front coilovers up just 1/4" and no rubbing so all is good.

3) I installed some platinum v-led leds on my front turn signals
I love the look

I will soon post some pics of how the car is currently looking with these new mods. Car is clean right now so hopefully this weekend i can snap up a couple pics to post on here.

Sooooo, just as i was gaining momentum for mods again...........my A/C dies on me. I usually drive with my windows down and sunroof tilted so i hadnt realized except last week i went out to lunch and the A/C was very weak to get cold but i was in a hurry and kept going. So today i step out to go to lunch and FL weather forced me to turn on my A/C and of course now its not just weak but now it's not cooling at all. So i'm going to bring it to my mechanic but surely the A/C fix wont be cheap. I guess i cant complain as i've had this car for 6yrs now and it never had a A/C problem before but it still sucks because it is going to hurt my modding fund that was just starting to build up again. To make things worse my truck is coming up on 100k service so about $700 will soon leave my pocket for that as well.

Anyways i guess this is God's way of controlling my mod spending. The reality is my car is 8yrs old and coming up on 140k miles. Mechanical issues will soon start becoming a little more frequent so i need to make sure i've got money for that so maybe its better to use the mod money to keep the car in running great (not just looks).

MAS, i just read the rest of your post....

couple things, ironically the same thing happened to my wifeys Lexus...her AC light started blinking and the AC wasnt cooling at all....is the TL doing the same?

when i tried to troubleshoot it and research about it online, i found out that its the relay which was going out....in the lexus the horn relay and the AC relay is the same....i tried swapping it out and the AC works as a charm....

Swoosh, THX for the info. I should have a chance to check it this Saturday. Hopefully it is just a relay or something simple like that.

I also have my left HID which takes a couple tries to turn on. The right HID has no problem its just the left. After a couple tries it does light but you know how HIDs take a second to get bright, the left one takEd twice add long to get bright. On Saturday ill mess with that as well and hopefully its just a bad contact or something (would hate to have to buy a ballast)

You can find the ballast on the black market here and there....
I'd swap bulbs from left to right and ensure that the problem doesn't follow the bulb. That would be a much easier/cheaper fix.

^^^ well if the bulbs come on the bulbs are fine and so is the ballast....cant be a loose connection as he didnt mention any flicker....

but yeah if he has time on his hands, i would def go your way so see if the problem follows....it will be a good way to troubleshoot the problem

Wassap guys. I havent posted anything in a while so i thought i would take some pics as i just cleaned the TL. Here are some pics i took this afternoon (not bad for cell phone pics).

And i have been thinking about painting my calipers bronze with black Brembo decals. When i bought my RDX caliper cover i bought an extra pair so i could test this color out. So here is the rear caliper cover painted bronze with black Brembo decals and below is before and after with test fit. I kinda leaning towards the factory RDX cover color combo as i think it looks cleaner. What do you guys think?

MAS, I would suggest going with the red brake covers. You've already got red in the side markers and the tails. I oducing another color (orange/gold) might be too much.

I do like the new pictures. I've updated the title to your thread for you.

MAS, I think you are going to catch more flak from people over putting the Brembo sticker on the RDX cover more-so than painting the cover gold. People on here get mad enough when others use the fake Brembo covers to misrepresent parts that they don't have.

I actually preferred the look of keeping them all black and leaving the Acura sticker on them. To each their own though.

^^^ Excellent point. Consider going back to the Acura stickers.

Good comments although i dont really care if some people are bothered by the brembo decals. The calipers with paint alone dont look as good and painted calipers with lettering...now would Acura lettering look better and more accurate than brembo??...well that may be a good point.

I'm more thinking about colors. It seems my wheel wells could use some color contrast (black car, black calipers, gunmetal wheels). Might need something brighter calipers (red, bronze, etc.) If my wheels were silver or brushed aluminum i probably wouldnt even be thinking of any change to the caliper color.

Try out the red-when you see it with your side markers and tails, I'm sure you'll like it.

I've got another "red" idea for you too. I'll send you a PM.

Question

So i was just surfing the web and looking at a couple pics and i ran into this pic below. I think the color combo on this car is really hot (black/red/silver). I think there is alot of good contrast there which i love because many times a car has too much of the same color. So anyways it got me to thinking if i want to remove the tint from my car. I've been looking for something to break up all of the black and i think this might be it. But i dont think i would be able to pull the trigger so easily as i always have my cars tinted so i am REALLY used to it and if i change my mind after i do it i will need to spend $100+ to get it back. So feel free to chime in and hopefully help me make up my mind on whether or not to take the tint off...thoughts??

Leave it on! Tint looks good and keeps the interior temp down.

That's a Florida car, for sure...so it's TINTS.

Honestly MAS...you have it done already, I would NOT go back and remove it now. Tint helps a lot with preserving the interior too...those Vossen 8th Gen dudes all need to be seen in a major way, which is why they don't tint. My mom hugged me a lot as a kid so I'm ok with not being seen, plus, most of the time I roll windows down.

So recently bought some depo Type-S tails and i put one on to see if i liked it.......No likey! Gonna post up a pic soon so you guys can see. It seems to me that probably because its the cheap Depo stuff that the bezel color is not right. It seems too bright (more shiny silver than shiny grey). They look kinda like those cheap Altezza style lights so many people out there have. I'll post a pic up later today. I also thought about modding them but it seems they dont fit well either (again cheap depo crap). So i'm probably gonna return them and stay stock.

Also ordered some gunmetal plastidip to do my grill. Its already black and has held up well so we'll see how the gunmetal looks (should look good with the gunmetal accent on the Aspec lip). Will post picks of that as soon as i do it.

PLus, i need to post up pics anyway since i did go thru with it and remove my tints. Woh, big change but i think it looks good. Pics coming soon.

Why not open them up and mod them? That's one way to get rid of the chrome bezels.

MAS, mod them. You'll be happy with the end result! they sit a little more "in" to the trunk, but not bad.

Here are my type S (they are oem, but same concept) on NBP.
Looking forward to your caliper/grill updates!

J.

In case you missed my updates...I removed the frosted lens inside, painted the bezel NBP and covered the reflector with CF wrap.

Yes i thought about modding them. I actually have been interested for a long time in painting them black like yours Rockstar but keeping the reflector red as well BUT they dont fit well. They sit too far out and down....to much gap to the bumper. I might try again with oem ones and if the oem color doesnt satisfy then mod those knowing they will fit better. It just seems like these are extra crappy quality. I call them Depo but the box actually says Eagle Eye......maybe these are different and even lower quality than actual Depo (assuming there is a difference between Eagle Eye and Depo). I've got them in my trunk ready for a trip to the post office.

Italiano you again?!?!! Ugh you're everywhere!

OP, when I got my 07-08 Base tails, the box said DEPO not Eagle Eye. Check with the seller and see exactly what they sent you.

So i heard installing Accord fogs was a huge pain in the ass and mine were NOT the exception. I spent 7-8 hrs just mounting them (no wiring done yet) and they are about 95% (not perfect because the Aspec lip is a bit pushed out by the fog housing). This weekend i'm going to work on the wiring if everything goes according to plan and wifey doesn't give me a huge honey-do list. I also need to buy some 5000k lights to match my HIDs. In the mean time here are another couple pics.

Yeah they do look pretty clean. I spent quite a while wearing our the outside of the housing to fit the opening without any huge gaps. The problem with the Aspec lip is that either you cut a divot in the bulb housing to allow for the space the lip takes up or you position the housing just behind the lip. I'm not crazy about the second one because then the foglight looks too far in and/or it can even start going into the back part of the opening and look totally bad. I'm not crazy about cutting the divot into the housing either but i guess i'll have to. Either way it looks pretty cool and my Dremel skills just skyrocketed in one day. The new foglights also highlight that i need to polish my headlights, so i need to do that as well. I just ordered some 5000K LED bulbs at V-Led. They were on sale for half price. Reviews say they dont really shine a whole lot on the road but the pure white colors does match well with pure white HIDS. I didn't have them before so i'm sure i'll be able to drive just fine without them brightening up so much of the road ahead....i really just care that they look good...thats all that matters right.
