KJ, I'm glad everything worked out well with the brakes.
The drop and the roof spoiler will do you good. If you want or need ideas, visit My Garage. Now that I look at it, it's scary how much stuff I've done to my Type S....

I don't blame you, the stock Type-S wheels look good. Just save up and you'll find some you like
As for the dealer, $1200 is pretty ridiculous for brakes...glad you went back to your original dealer, bet you're glad you got CPO as well.

To round out of the summer I think my list will consist of the following:
Roof Spoiler
Complete Audio Install
-Sell JL 500/1, install XD500/3 and move it under driver's seat
-Install component speakers
-Install Raamat deadening
Paint Calipers
-Still need to decide on a color. I kinda like that silver I posted originally, but I'm open to ideas. With my color car, I don't see a lot of options besides Black, Red, and Silver.

Yea, I'm excited to get them on. So you are still liking the ride they give? Just about everyone who has run them sounds like they were very happy with them. I was actually really surprised when I found out Tyler had them, from the look of his car I had assumed he was on coilovers. The drop is going to be exactly what I'm looking for I think. And they actually just showed up today!
I've never been one for black wheels, though yours came out great Matt. I think they work nice with a black and white theme like you have going. And those white calipers look awesome behind the black rims too.
For me, I like the shiny gunmetal of the stock Type-S rims, so I think I'll just leave them as is. But I think silver calipers would pop nicely inside the dark wheel well, and match the rest of the car nicely as well.

Silver calipers
And I agree, the gunmetal looks good, plus if you plan on getting wheels later on you mid as well just save, powder coat can be expensive.

I'm really starting to consider red for the calipers now. I figure they would stand out without looking too flashy...plus the red would go with the red theme that a Type-S has, although that is mostly inside I guess.
On a more important note, I need some help making a decision. I'm considering going with the HT Spec Type 1 V2 coilovers instead of the S Tech Springs. Being able to adjust ride height seems like it would be pretty nice. I'm researching what kind of ride height I can get with them, as I don't want to be slammed here in Chicago.
Any opinions on those coils, in terms of comfort maybe? Is the ride quality going to be similar to the Type-S suspension?

I can't comment on quality of those specific ones but coilovers are the way to go, you'll like them much better than springs.

So I'll be sticking with the stock Type S waffles, but I'm thinking they might not look great lowered due to their crappy offset. I'm thinking spacers - 15mm in front and 20 or 25mm in back. But I'm a little concerned about running them, sounds like there are some horror stories out there. Any opinions on any of this?

Plenty of people run spacers, just do your research and find a reputable company. I believe there is another member with Type-S wheels and spacers, forgot what the thread is called though.

Yea, I've seen a good amount of them, I just need to educate myself on them a little more. I think what I'm looking for is Akata V2 hubcentric spacers. I think it was Rockstar who did the review thread on them and seemed to like them a lot.

I've got the Akata spacers and love the look. Do it!
By the way, we got the front Aspec Lip on-it looks great McCollins and Shoeface did the job while swoosh and I worked on the headlights and sidemarkers. The rest will be installed on Sunday.

Steven, glad the front lip worked for you, I can't wait to see pictures! Once I figure out what to do with my drop/spacer situation we are going to have damn similar cars!
I'm leaning towards waiting and getting coilovers. Nothing too fancy, most likely just the HT Spec. I also think I'll end up matching Steven and going red on the calipers, I think it would give a nice pop of color. Steven - did you get those rear caliper covers on?

8/6/12 Updates
Been awhile since I've had an update, but did a few small things this past week.
First up: A-Spec badge! Glad I logged on to the Black Market early that morning.
Also installed a USR Dead Pedal. Really finishes the look of the pedals nicely.
I also switched out my JL 500/1 for a JL XD500/3, but its still just running the sub, haven't gotten around to installing the new component speakers yet.
Also, I just placed an order for the BMWOEMSHOP roof spoiler this morning, so hopefully that arrives this week and can go on this weekend (...and hopefully not get ripped off while in a parking lot...)
Next item on my search is a set of ebony A-Specs. I've finally decided I want to switch to those instead of my waffles.
Tein S Tech springs are still waiting to be put on as well. I'm trying to decide if I want to go the spacer route as well, which would probably require some fender rolling with these springs, and I'm not sure I want to end up going that route. Maybe I'll do the wheels and springs and then see how I like it before picking up spacers.

Congrats on the A-Spec badge and the pedals. Help me find a badge too.

Thanks Steven. I wish I could find you another badge....it kinda felt like winning the lottery when I saw it on the Black Market and got to it first. Those things go so quick.

The car is looking great OP!
Where did you get the Unique Style Racing dead pedal from? I've tried searching but it looks like the group buy activity ended in 2010 and the dead pedal seems to only be offered as a full gas/brake/dead pedal kit on their website.
Thanks,
Jon

I actually picked up a full set of pedals from the Black Market. I was going to put the accelerator pedal on as well to replace my stock one that has seen better days, but it looks like that isn't possible with the Type S from what I can tell.

I did, big props to Quanaman. We had a few issues with the rims when they showed up, and he immediately resolved the issue, I would recommend anyone to do business with him on the black market. Long story short, these are some ebony a-specs, freshly powder coated in their original finish, they look fantastic! In this picture they look more silver than they actually are.
They go on tomorrow, along with some other fun stuff. Pictures coming hopefully tomorrow night!

Those Aspecs look spectacular, 100x better than they did when they were in my hands. That shop did some really good work; I'm going to have to visit the one in Philly and see what they can do for me and my works
Really excited to see what your car will look like tonight!!! I think you'll love it.

New wheels and a drop!
OK, finally got everything installed today! No time to take any daylight pictures when I got home, but here is a pic as it sat outside the shop waiting to be picked up, and then a couple fitment shots. Let me know what you guys think!

Coming from you, that's quite a compliment!
Thanks, that's the kind of look I've been going for.
So for what I did:
18x8 Ebony A-Specs - completely refinished
245/40/18 Tires
Tein S Tech Springs
15mm Front / 20mm rear Akata Spacers
Rolled Rear Fenders
Loving it so far. Couldn't really tell any difference in ride quality on the way home either.
