What's up buddy I hadn't realized you got the aspecs !! They look CLEAN!!! As does the rest of your car.. it's really comin along

I'm definitely thinkin about the iJDMTOY DRLs for myself too. Where did you fellas order them from?

Oh and do you know of a good rim repair place around KJ? Apparently one of the rims in the set of Aspecs I told you I bought was bent
I might end up refinishing them all from the curbage of previous owner from the same place if they do it.

Not sure exactly, amazon reviews don't usually stay too updated, but I'm hoping for several months at least, and I also plan on reapplying every once in a while to hopefully continually extend that. I'm sure I'll keep this updated if anything changes.

Wow, thanks for the kind words man, coming from a guy with one of the hottest TLs on the site, that means a lot. I've taken a lot of time to think through every mod I've done in hopes of it all working together. But hey, I forgot to ask you....Can I have your white paint?

Thanks. It was a bit intimidating to take sandpaper to my headlight at first, but I'm glad I finally just went ahead and did it.

Sounds good man, we gotta get your thread bumped back up to the top.

Yea, I went with A-specs, just a classic look on these cars. And the reason they look so clean is....they are all freshly powdercoated! So yea, I do know a place actually, because of the same issue you have. When I ordered mine on the BM here, 3 of the 4 ended up being bent. So instead of shipping them back, I looked into places to get them repaired. WheelsAmerica, over in Elk Grove Village, is where I ended up. They wanted 80 per rim to repair bends, or 130 per rim to fix bends and completely refinish. When I asked if they could do any better than that, they told me that if I had them completely refinish all 4 rims, they would do them for $99 a piece, and I decided that was too good a deal to pass up.

As far as the iJDMTOY DRLs go....iJDMTOY.com is actually the website. Here is the product I have:

http://store.ijdmtoy.com/9005-LED-Da...d_sku45_r3.htm

Look for The Machine's DIY on how to install. I followed it, and everything worked first try, and I haven't had a single issue in the several months I've been running them.

So I have the RDX caliper covers sitting in my garage, but then I saw the small brembo covers that McCollins ordered, and I think I like those a lot, more so than the RDX covers. So that might end up happening before the winter comes, but I want to get some feedback from him on how they went on and how they look first.
Also thinking I'm going to do the resonator delete with moving the velocity stack as well, just keep to find the right saw to cut it off. I partially want to do this just to have access to remove the driver side headlight if I need to.

Nothing special here, just thought it looked sweet walking out of the store tonight so I snapped a quick pic. With the right camera, I think this could have turned out really nice.

Nice pic bro... did you notice your steering wheel any lighter/smoother after switching to these aspecs? I felt a noticeable change from the oem rims. It still felt stable if not more but the wheel was much easier to turn while cornering.

Hmm...can't say that I noticed that in particular. But then again, I did more than just switch rims. At the same time, I was going from old tires to new, added spacers, put on the Tein S Techs, and got an alignment, so things certainly felt a little different afterwards.

True story here....and I love the metallic flake in it.

And AcuraCake - Nice looking exhaust you got on there now.

So I've been thinking...I haven't been able to get myself on board with red brembos. For some reason I don't see it being the right color for my car. Then I was thinking about how much I liked everyone's white ones, and I thought, why not white on mine?

So what do you guys think? White Brembos, with maybe the carbon fiber decals? And then finally a Domed Decal up front in either black or carbon fiber? Maybe I'll put up a poll to get some opinions or if anyone else has a silver TL with white brembos.

If I paint my brembos, I was thinking of going with a bright silver with black lettering. I might paint my stock rims gunmetal so I would want a lighter caliper.

Do you not have a front plate on your car currently? I would take mine off if we didn't have a front plate law. But either black or CF domed decal would be good I think.

Buddy, white Brembo's will blend in a lot, so you'll lose the brake in the visual. I like the Carbon Fiber logo idea, but you might consider a contrasting color, so they stand out....

Silver was my original idea actually...but most people didn't seem to think it would look great. I posted this on my first page:

But then, I'm not sure how much they would stand out against my A-specs. I think they might get lost more than the white. Since they are such nice looking brakes, I do want them to stand out, but I don't want them to be over the top. ASM just seems like a harder color to work with than others, or maybe I'm just over-thinking it

I like the silver calipers. Do it!

If you didn't do silver, I have no idea what color to recommend.

Nope, no front plate since I put the lip kit on, which I think was April or March. Never had a problem. But I do kind of want a hide-away plate up front for when I go downtown. Also - your stockies would look great in gunmetal.

Just saw yours in my Let's see your painted Brembos thread, they look great! I like how the red is just enough for a little pop.

Did a little work on the intake yesterday, decided to go ahead and delete that resonator.

And here is a night shot of it looking nice

I think I've caught on to something...

Is that HID ballast for your fog lights?

I saw that after I typed it, but no, not Works

Part of it is what we've discussed in your thread very recently...

And yes, thats the ballast for the fogs. Problem was that I had it attached to the resonator, and it was a perfect spot. Took off the resonator, and had to play around to find a new spot for it. The kit I got works well, but my only complaint about it is that the ballast needs to be so close to the bulb. An extension wire would solve all the mounting problems.

Tein Street Advance and Progress 24mm RSB!

In addition, I'll be adding an ingalls rear camber kit and doing the stage 3 exhaust mod. Really can't wait til things show up and I can get it all on!

Unfortunately I won't be able to get this stuff on for at least a week. It won't be in until next week, and I have a decent amount of travel for work as well. Plus suspension isn't a job I'm up to tackling, so I need to bring it in to a shop about 30 minutes away. I'll probably just have them do everything if the price is right.

Unfortunately, this is a move partly to winterize the car. When I get it back, it will be raised up about as high as the Teins will go. Need to prepare for the upcoming Chicago winter. Then come spring time I can drop it back down again. Definitely going with a lifetime alignment this time around from my local firestone that has the right kind of lifts.

I know it, I can't wait! Your videos sealed the deal on me wanting to do the exhaust. Seems like it will give it a little bit of a rumble without being extreme at all.

HAHA. Didn't I tell you that you'd end up going to coils!

Don't worry. I had my h&r sport springs for less than 6 months before I bought real coilovers.

Haha, what can I say, you were right. I had my eye out for them, and the right option finally came along. The ability to raise for the winter I decided was important to me, plus damping adjustment seems nice too. Haven't heard a bad thing about Teins yet either, so I trust that they will last me a long time.

Is it weird that I'm maybe even more excited for the Stage 3 exhaust? I know its pretty basic, but I'm looking forward to the car have a bit of a voice.

Yea, I think I've decided that I'm going to do the silver with black or carbon fiber Brembo logos. I know it won't stand it a ton, but I do think they will be more noticeable than black. And I'm sure they will look nice rolling too. I think that is a job I will tackle in the spring tho unless I really get motivated.

Thanks man. I love the drop too, I think it's about as spot on as you can get with just springs. But thanks to Chicago winters I decided I need some adjustability, so springs are on their way out and coils coming in!

Hit a little milestone today!

Love the fact that I know I'll be driving it for years to come still. Coming up on 1 year of ownership 3 weeks from now.

One big round of mods before the end of the season, hopefully within the next week:

Tein Street Advance coilovers
Progress Rear Sway Bar
RV6 Front Strut Bar
Ingalls rear camber kit
Stage 3 exhaust with 24235 resonator
RV6 V3 J-pipe

Also, just noticed yesterday that I have one license plate LED out, and one switchback went real dim when on white, so new ones are on the way.

Nice! I hit my 40k mark last week. Feels awesome to own a TL with relatively low mileage and knowing you will be driving this for years to come. I look forward to your progress!

Is that warning your TPMS?
