Hi Bronco

I was wondering if your car is lowered. It looks great. I have the exact same car you have I was wondering your thoughts on vossen wheels 20x9.5 vvscv4 without the car lowered.

Thanks man! I'm actually on stock suspension but went with a slightly beefier tire than the recommended size (255 instead of 245). I think that helps a bit when it comes to wheel gap but I had that flexibility due to the fact my wheels are only 8.5" wide. I did have to roll my rear fenders though.

I think those Vossens would look sick! I'm biased towards 10 spoke designs though

Wrapped the rear trim and put vinyl on the tails...then took her to get the magnaflows installed. Happy birthday to me!

Looks good! Did you use matte black for the rear trim? How do you like the magnaflow sound? I'm guessing you kept the stock tips?

Thanks! Yeah, used matte on the trim to break it up a bit and because my grille surround is matte.

I really like the magnaflows. I didn't want anything loud and they're perfect. I like the stock tips so I had to keep them.

Nice!! I've been debating on different exhausts because I definitely don't want anything loud. I'd appreciate something subtle yet sporty sounding. But definitely looks good! I like the look of the matte trim piece back there too.

Nothing new or exciting...just figured I'd share a cell phone pic from over the weekend.

The only mods currently in the pipeline are the CDV removal and hopefully the Hondata FlashPro.

Thanks man!

I appreciate the look of a lowered vehicle but I'm just not ready to deal with everything that comes along with it on my DD...not only having to adjust my driving habits but the additional expenses as well.

Hmmm...you'd be surprised what just a simple lowering spring can do for you...still plenty of ground clearance, barely any camber added, and visually, it'll make the rims look 2 inches bigger.

I'm the devil on your shoulder.

I'm just saying there's a HUGE gray area between stock height and being crazy slammed on air/coilovers and not being able to enjoy driving the car.

I had the same thoughts regarding lowering. I'm very glad I went with Tein H Techs. Minimal drop but makes a world of a difference and still feels oem without worrying about scraping.

Haha, totally understand! However, IF I ever do lower my car it will be on coils. I don't want to deal with the harsh ride that springs can produce...not to mention decreased shock life. I also like that I can adjust the height to suit my needs.

Who knows, if the FlashPro doesn't end up being produced for the 4G maybe coils will be in my future. I've learned over the years to never say never when it comes to modding my car.

I considered springs a while back (one of the many occasions I've been on the fence about lowering) but decided if I was going to do it I wanted to do it right without sacricing anything.

I was actually going in the other direction...thinking that way it wouldn't be too low. I'm sure once I was in that position though I'd constantly want to go lower.

If I had unlimited funds (or even a little more squeeze room in the family budget) I probably would've done it already. I'd say it's more the $$$ factor holding me back than anything else. I'm making an exception for the FlashPro (potentially) because I really want to get all I can out of my engine and that's more of a priority than ride height.

See, and I'm the opposite...the absolute first thing would have been suspension, then exhaust. Gimme that driving pleasure...most go fast mods lose their residual enjoyment over time since you get used to the power.

Seeing her look sexy or sound sexy when driving NEVER gets old.

^^^ It's all good man, different strokes for different folks! I appreciate the way you go about saying it...not the typical 4x4 comments bashing the fact that I kept the OEM setup.

I understand I'm in the minority when it comes to the lack of suspension mods, but since I'm used to the stock setup she still looks sexy to me.

Good points. Personally I rather my car to look as fast as it goes. With my 09' I was on the all out performance path, then with my 12' I lost focus, though I'm back on the war path

I never really understood why people bashed you for keeping your stock height,at the end of the day we mod our car to suit our personal preferences.

For some its form over function, others its function over form and for some its a combination of both.Personally, i respect you for the choices you made, minority or not .

Thanks! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but the internet tends to change the way they deliver their message.

I've gotten used to the comments and understand that not everyone is going to like what I've done. It's all about how they say it, which is why I have ZERO issues with rockstar saying what he feels would make my car look better...which I do agree with. It's just not in my best interest to make that change at this point. I have a family to take care of and student loans to pay off (among other bills of course) so my disposable income is minimal. All of my mods have been either birthday or Christmas presents and the biggest expense (wheels) was offset by the sale of my 19" stockers.

My main concern with lowering is the additional costs...and the fact I'm running 255/35/20 tires means I'll likely have issues with rubbing. I rolled the rear fenders but they still make contact with the tires under certain conditions so I'm sure they would need to be done a little more and the fronts as well.

I do go back and forth on the subject a lot though, and the outcome of the FlashPro will go a long way in determing what I do.

Anytime, man...

Honestly, I kinda wish I was okay with stock height...no joke. I know how much extra money gets wasted, having to adjust my driving style, potholes, camber, toe, MORE LOW, camber kits, spacers...bah...it never ends. I wish I could just look at my car and smile and be happy with it, but as you know...once you go low, you have a HARD time going back. I'm not even kidding, you raise it up 2 turns of the locking ring and in your mind you're like, GREAT, I'm at FOUR FINGERS OF GAP NOW (reality is really 1/4" )...

I even chose TEIN specifically because I literally am maxed out and cannot go any lower and I have not gone too nuts and have been able to manage stock camber specs with the use of kits. I personally still don't understand the guys going 12" wide wheels and negative 16 camber to make it "fit" (no lie...actual guy I saw).

As far as go fast mods, I'm kinda FOS too...I have header/high flows/exhaust/intake on both my cars but I often think, can I really remember how much faster I am than before I dropped all that cash?

Thanks for the compliment though, I find there are a lot of abrasive people online that spew their opinion and are downright mean about it and then hide behind the "you posted this on a public forum, get a thicker skin". No, that allows you to have an opinion, not to be an azzhole. And that's not even touching on actual TROLLS.

^^^ Well said man! You make me happy to be okay with stock height...haha.

Hopefully one of these days I'll make it to a meet down south. With my schedule it's tough but I'd like to eventually cause there's a few of you guys I'd like to meet. The one last weekend had a great turnout!

Thanks, man. It'd be nice to meet you too!

As regional coordinator, I command you, MAS, JayVee and Predatorbird to show up next time.

I actually drove up to almost Orlando in November to pick up the S.

If I ever do make the trip down there you may have to lend a hand with my CDV removal

I'm pretty sure I read on here somewhere that you removed yours.

That's what I was thinking too. I did it on my old car (also a long time ago) but the setup was very different. I may end up buying one of those bleeder kits to make it easier. I'm sure I would use it again in the future.

If you want to bleed something go to Harbor Freight and get an Air Bleeder they are like 20 bucks and make life so much easier... no pumping just have someone to keep the res full and let it suck...

if you do your own maintenance, that's a must have in my book. clutch line, brake lines, power steering pump, even oil change in a pinch...it just sucks. and that's a good thing.

I've got that to change the oil in my boat... I've used it for a few other things like changing oil in the edger and things like that... but for brakes this one takes the cake...

Thank you both for the tips! I have a HF gift card so I'll likely go that route...not sure I'll get my money's worth out of the Mityvac on Amazon since it will rarely be used.

I have another pump that I used when filling my rear diff fluid and MTF, I'll have to see if that can do this job too (haven't paid much attention to the accessories that came with it).

EDIT - may have to go with this Mityvac Vacuum Pump from HF.

Fk that, go with USER ERROR's suggestion, seems to do the same thing and only $25!

I don't think your filler will work because it blows, and you need someone, errr, something that sucks instead. Unless you can swap the line over to a different valve on it.

Haha! It has two hoses, one that sucks and one that blows but it doesn't appear to be intended for bleeding brake/clutch lines (got impatient and found it on walmart.com) so I'm gonna buy something that's better suited for that.
