20 inch rim upgrade

Hi. I'm planning to upgrade my rims to 20x8.5 front and 20x10 rear with 245 35 20 front and 255 35 20 rear. Will the rear rub? Rims are Verde Contra. Going to lower it using Eibach pro kit 1.2 front and 1 inch rear. I need some advise. Thank you.

Thanks for the advise. Should I go with 35 or 40 offset?

How much are the coilovers? I live in Canada but I'm planning to buy the springs or coilovers in the states because it is cheaper. Any suggestion where to buy and what brand? Thanks

Tein, BC, or ISC are really your best options

be ready for STEEP fees at the border if you order online...better off finding a licensed retailer in your area.

I love these wheel fitment threads that pop up almost every day.

Easier just to look through all the other wheel threads to find out the fitment you want. If you aren't committed to making them fit. Stay conservative. If it was me in your situation, just go 20x8.5 +35/40 20x10+40. But I personally go more aggressive.

Good Luck.

Thanks. Will the 20x10 rear rub?

What is your wheel set-up and did you buy your coilovers and wheels/rims in GTA? Thanks

If you are referring to me no I did not buy them in the GTA. Im located in Seattle, WA and purchased my rims locally and coilovers were ordered from Florida since I have a connect on BC Racing coilovers. My wheel set up is Work VSXX 20x9+16 20x10.5+25.

Yes you can get the 20x10 to fit. Rubbing only comes into play if wheels are too wide, car is pretty low and/or if offset is really low. 35-40 is legit.

I purchased by Teins at JRP Performance for about $1100, they are in Mississauga. Be ready for some shit customer service, but they usually have what you need in stock.

Your fronts will fit with +40. Your rears will probably need fender rolling.

Are you willing to roll your fenders or do you want to go with a setup that does not require rolled fenders?

I prefer a set-up without rolling my fenders. What would you suggest? I was also considering Vossen VV7 19x8.5 +30 (front)-245/35/19 (front) & 19x9.5 +33 (rear) with 265/30/19 (rear). Need your advise. Thanks.

What about a 22x9 for the front and 22x10 for the rear?

Lol. Biggest I've seen on the TL is 21" and its huge! 20's are the max. You'll be riding on 25 series tires trying to squeeze 22" and it won't ride good at all. Slug.

There is a guy near me with 22" Asanti 3 piece wheels. The wheels look great but they are to big for the TL. There is really no sidewall to speak of.

I just bought Tein Street Advance. Do you know where to get it installed in Toronto or Markham. Would you know if my rear tires will rub the fender. Tires 245 35 20. Front 9 35 offset and Rear 10.5 +42. Thanks

Noob question for the experts in here.
If you upgrade your wheel to 19" or 20", don't you sacrifice your riding comfort?
My 2012 Sh-awd with 18" wheels and sport tuned suspension already feel a little rough. Imagine going with 19" or even 20" will even more rough than now besides those low profile tires are not cheap either to buy or replace.
Thanks.

Ride quality is sacrificed when going with a low profile tire. The higher the profile, the smoother the ride. However a lot of us have improved our handling and comfort by running coil overs sows can fine too the dampening. We have made it smoother then the factory suspension.

OP. Good choice on going with the Street Advance. You'll like them. You should be fine on the rubbing with the +40 offset but if not, a slight roll will fix your problems. Post pictures after you install your wheels and coils.
