OFFICIAL Hondata Flashpro Calibration/Tuning Thread

Any of you guys having cranking issues? I'm on cal 3.9 and vit hasn't been able to even fix my cranking problem.
Starting to really depress me. My tune is almost done. Car drives great but start ups suck ass!

It was fine when it was stock. This started right after vit sent me my first cal. I have 550cc injectors and SC. But that shouldn't an issue. All the other sc k24 guys don't seem to be having this issue. It's driving me bananas.

VTEC just kicked in, yo!

Did you experience this when you were on the base SC map? If not, I guess you can try temporarily flashing to the base SC calibration and see if you're still experiencing this. Flash it back to your current map when done testing.

He can't.. base SC map is for 780CC injectors.

Also, before your next comment.. 550CC injectors you have to splice the the OEM harness, soooo going back to stock OR switching to 780CC injectors is going to be a big hassle.

There is no base sc map for the 11-14 tsx.

Yeah. I had the problem since cal 1. I believe there is to much fuel being sprayed during cranking. I tried reducing fuel but results are mixed and I can only cold start twice a day. I also have warm start issues as well. The entire cranking fuel is off it seems. I even email hondata thinking maybe there was a glitch with bigger injector compensation but they said there end is good.

I mean... it might be a good idea to take it to a tuner, specifically for cranking. They may be able to see something that Vit cannot, simply because they are there in person to diagnose.

How old is your battery?? It may not have enough cold crank amps to start it well?? With the added drag of the supercharger cranking during starts maybe it's your battery getting too tired.. Just an educated guess idk it's worth a quick check though...
#895
Edit: well maybe there might be some added drag during starting that shouldn't be there?? Too much belt tension? Starter going bad?? Just thinking out loud.. Sucks this would be driving me nuts...

Just maybe thinking it's something mechanically going on.. Cuz if VIT couldn't tuned it out??...

Well Vit is still in the process of tuning the cranking issue. From what I learned, cranking fuel can be a bit of a bitch to tune because well you can only do one or two cold cranks per day and sometimes you have to tune the coolant temp compensation and the IAT compensation on top of global cranking fuel setting and the cranking fuel tables. So im giving Vit time to sort it out for me.

It's very easy to adjust cranking fuel write down the settings vit has then play with it change it 20% lower and try it for a day see what it does and the same with the tip in fuel compensation in the throttle calibration, usually if it is getting to much fuel it will sputter and chug after starting my guess is it is not enough fuel on cranking.
first try priming the pump before starting turn the key on for 5 seconds and off do that 3 times then start it if it starts right up that means the fuel is draining back into the tank (bad check valve in pump)

One confusing observation... I compared the stock fuel cranking table between the k24z3 and the k24z7 and there is a huge difference. The z3 is at about 8000 and the z7 is at 16000. This is at the "0.0" column. Why is that? I though the tsx and the SI motors were very similar engine wise.

I'll try that. He's got me adjusting the fuel cranking table right now. It's so hard cuz there are like 4 different places to adjust cranking feul and I'm not sure which one to focus on. It's really stressing me out. The car only has 9k miles on it so it's practically still a new car. He also said that it might be vapor lock. I never had this problem until I put the sc kit on with 550cc injectors. My head is just spinning.

Breaking warranty (if I even have any) is worth breaking for the SC. I love it except for the cranking crap I'm dealing with. I read a post where some guy went to the dealer for some repairs and they ended up "updating" his ecu over his reflash. But that's about it. Not sure if they can detect that sort of stuff.

Here's the calibration. I took Dime Feng's 09-10 5AT map and copy/pasted all the values into a clean 11+ map. I haven't seen any real problems and I've been using the calibration on my 2013 tech for over half a year now. I've seen some random phantom knocks... but I suspect this is just road noise or noise/vibration from the RV6 PCD that I have. Also when I'm on WOT, shifting from 2nd to 3rd, there's a sudden loss of power about 1s after the shift is done, then the RPMs begin climbing back up. I realized this isn't related to the map at all, but rather a shitty side effect of owning an automatic transmission (torque converter lockup).

Mind you, Dime Feng had quite a few mods going, so YMMV. Good luck, and let us know how it goes. BTW, where'd you get the Icebox from?

dime feng had the injen intake, p2r spacer (dosen't do shit) and the downpipe. (all that was in the cal notes)
so the only actual mod that should have made a difference was the downpipe anyways.
same as xtc i have been running that cal for a long time now with no prob.
The only cal that ever gave me problems was OptimusAccords original one, it would cause my car to randomly stall and die so i would have to keep the rpm up at idle.
