Magnaflow 11225's w/ 4" Staggered Tips
Has anyone installed the magnaflows without reusing the factory tips? I'd like to install the magnaflows but want staggered tips like the XLR8 exhaust.

Just find the tips you like and bring them with the mufflers to the shop and they will put them together!

Here's Magnaflow's offering. I was thinking of doing the same thing and ordered one tip to eye ball it and decide if I like it. I'll definitely go with a staggered tip exhaust eventually. They look great.

Holy crap that's huge. Or do you just have a small hand? Maybe I'd go with a 3.5" if I did this to mine. I, too, want the staggered tips on mine and don't necessarily want to pay $1400+ for an ATLP Exhaust

LOL No, I don't think I have a small hand.... I wear an XL sized football glove?! I think it might have a lot to with the perspective of the photo in addition to the tip being huge. It's a 4" tip however so it's the same as ATLP. I had someone hold the tip up behind the muffler and stood about 15 feet away while the car was on the lift; looked just like ATLP does in pictures. Looked badass.

I've been exploring running staggered 4" tips as well...
The 4" tip with the 2.25" inlet is Magnaflow 35126: http://www.hottexhaust.com/Magnaflow_35126
For the muffler, the Magnaflow 11225 has a 14" body... the comparable muffler with dual tips is the Magnaflow 12158. The main difference is that the 2.25" inlet is centered while the 11225 is offset (and obviously the 11225's single, centered outlet). I haven't found a 2.25" offset inlet with dual 2" tips that has a 14" body.
http://www.hottexhaust.com/Magnaflow_12158
I have yet to look underneath the car to see if the centered inlet could work without having to rework the pipes too much on a SH-AWD setup.
Anyway, the 20% coupon on hottexhaust is "venti".
Shipped to me is $368.95... depending on how much I can get it installed for, I'm thinking that this 4" staggered tips setup should cost less than $500.
Yes, it would be more cosmetic, and it wouldn't reap the benefits of a full catback, but perhaps you can get the look and a some of the growl while still maintaining the low cabin noise levels from Pseudomaniac's Magnaflow 11225 thread.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you should be looking for a 2.5" inlet because the exhaust's pipe leading up to the mufflers themselves is 2.5".
I do not have something to accurately report this (as I'm thousands of miles away from my car right now) but I know that for the J-Pipe that it takes two 2.25" collectors and merges them into a 2.5" main pipe. I would assume that the 2.5" remains the same all the way to the rear.
If not, then is it a possibility that the 3.7L and 3.5L engines have separate exhaust systems? This is also something I'm wondering about.
Regardless, I'm looking forward to seeing the completed install of these items because I'd like to go this route.

Noticed the 12148 on the order picture and 12158 on your link. Typo?
Didn't go with the Magnaflow 11225 like SoJue only because I wanted the quad tips so felt compelled to go with a full ATLP cutback system (they are nice), but am concerned about the in-cabin noise, much higher cost, and probably not much HP gain over Magnaflow. Some have removed the ATLP system, which raises some concern, and I wonder why.
Even with the quad tips, I prefer the rectangular, squarish look as compared to the round tips, but those 4" tips look awesome.
So with the 12148 (or 12158) are you saying there is some fitment concerns?

Sorry, the correct muffler is Magnaflow 12138, 14 inch body, center/dual all 2.25"... (12158 has 2.5" dual outlets, while 12148 has 2" dual outlets... the stainless 4" tip is 2.25" opening)
http://www.hottexhaust.com/Magnaflow_12138
The fitment concerns have to do with the inlet being centered and not offset. The stock pipes feed into offset OEM mufflers and rerouting them to a centered inlet may mean using a Y-pipe past the RSB and going custom from there. I'm not sure if this would look good from the rear view.
I'd have to take more measurements to see if that's possible... I'm sure a good welder/muffler guy would make it work as the OEM mufflers have a 16 inch body, while the Magnaflow 12158 have a 14 inch body.
Irvine, I'm also compelled to go with ATLP because I love the quad tips so much. On my 3G, I was part of the first batch of quad exhausts, so I know firsthand the quality, durability, and compliments that come with the system.
With the 4G, I kinda promised myself (and the wife) that I'd try to keep this as stock as possible, so we'll see. After driving lowered and loud cars for almost 15 years, it's just nice to enjoy some quiet.

Thanks for the correction and elaboration.
Driving day to day I am also enjoying the quiet.
Thus, hoping some quad tip solution works with Magnaflows.
The 11225 sure makes it easy, but those quad tips are awesome.
ATLP is fine, and I am currently on a group buy, but the wait is likely a couple of months.

Anyone end up doing this and have pics? If so, how did you get them staggered? Have the muffler shop cut down one of the outlets?

I found a member that went with Magnaflow 12138 muffler's and the 35124 tips. I liked the look so I did the same. I got both mufflers for $140 and all four tips for $96 from a local dealer. These are 4" tips. I got a local shop to install the tips and mufflers for $200. They did stagger the tips. All in I spent about $500 parts and labor. I have the Takeda SRI, J-Pipe and the Magnaflow set up was the icing on the cake in regards to sound and performance for me. Here is a pic.

Dude that is perfect. Exactly what I want. Do you know how they staggered them? Did the shop have to cut down one of the outlets on the muffler?

What's the measurement on your offset? My installer is telling me they can only get about 3/4".
Have an appointment next Fri to get it done. Will post pics after. They're charging me $465 for parts and labor which I think is pretty good.

After looking around for a bit, I found a similar build using the single center>Center 11215s and 2 35710 Dual tips. Now would these fit the FWD TL?

I have Magnaflow 11225 mufflers with these tips:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/STAINLESS-STEEL-DUAL-EXHAUST-TIPS-4-0-2-5-ACURA-04-08-TLS-09-11-TL-12-14-TL-/271293188654?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2012%7CMake%3AAcura%7CModel%3ATL&hash=item3f2a558a2e&vxp=mtr
Since the 11225 mufflers are not a direct fit on the FWD TL, the shop where I got my mufflers installed had to make custom hangers ($40 each: 2 for each side). Did anyone else who owns a 2012+ FWD TL run into this issue?

I've done this,
I think the single in, dual out magnaflow muffler is the best choice!
Here is a link to the Facebook video of my set up.
I have the single in, dual out magnaflow mufflers, and my resonators are removed. I used 4" magnaflow tips and had them staggered. Since this video, I've had the tips pushed in further but kept the same stagger.
https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10154941808585557
Let me know if the video link works.
The reason I love the single in/dual out set up, is that I can plug a tail pipe on each muffler and eliminate almost all the drone you'd get driving on the hwy.
I just use a plastic plug from homedepot and stick it up a tail pipe on each muffler when making a long trip! It drastically changes the sound! Much quieter when the plugs are in.

Hey guys, I could use some help, I have a 2010 awd tl and I cut the resonators off, gave it a great sound with stock mufflers, but I'm Goin a diff route, anyone know the size of the resonator I will need, is it 2.25 or 2.5 inch?
