I'm running an XLR8 catback exhaust on my 2009 AT Sh-awd and run it on S mode everywhere, sounds great, get many compliments for it.

<<<@!1!@>>>

So my current set up is xlr8 v2 j pipe, stock piping up to mufflers then two magnaflow mufflers. Good sound just not awesome sound. After watching a ton of vids on ATLP vs xlr8 all I can say is that altp sounds almost identical to my current set up but costs almost $1k more. Guys that have the exhaust will obviously disagree to justify paying all that but its just a mild exhaust note nothing impressive in my opinion. If you're looking to not piss your neighbors off then ATLP is for you. XLR8 on the other hand paired with the j pipe is pure sex. Its is loud. If you like a loud nissan 370z kind sound then you will love this one. I just finally purchased one. Here are a couple vids:

XLR8

my fav

Here's ATLP

XLR8 was my choice .

Would anyone want to see a video of ATLP + XLR8 JPipe? I can try and put something together if anyone needs it.

Does any one knows where I can find the dynomax used on most 4g tls? I buough one from Amazon but my exhaust shop says it won't fit because it's 2 1/2 inches diameter and my stock pipes are 2 1/4 and I need something smaller... They are also charging like $150 for the soldering....

^^ Strange that you exhaust shop will not use reducers,2.5 to 2.25 since you already have the mufflers.

They could have done it. But won't be right since they have to put some adapter.. But i already find the size that I need and order it. And I'm planning to return the other one. Maybe after that Ill do a mid muffler delete too

My main question is is the J-pipe really worth it without the HFC. I been on the market for a J-pipe but it seems like it's more for the sound than HP.. But is it worth getting HPC.. Or J-pipe with swap out mufflers.. just wanna know you guys OPNION...

There's some great videos on here, I guess I'm looking for so,etching that sounds similar to the infiniti stock exhaust on the G37 coupe. From my take, just replacing the stock mufflers with the magnaflow muffler is the best solution. Is that safe to say or is that a no?

^^ Seen that video many times and it sounds really nice.

The best exhaust is the one that satisfy all your needs. Some like loud, some don't mind drone and some even like fart cans.

For me, the J pipe,Hfpc and and intake is the sweet spot,no drone and a smooth mellow tone that is refined through all rpm range.
Having heard all the possible combos available in person and even after owning the CTE Axle back,i still favor my current set up even though it will probably be too mild for many .

There aren't many videos of the cte exhaust, it would be nice if someone posted some clips and if they could confirm it will fit the the non-shawd models.

I have the RV6 J Pipe, RV6 Ceramic Coated High flow cats and he CT E Icebox.
I loved the Axle back when it was combined with the J pipe and intake. After i added the HFPC it became too loud for me and i took it off and went back with the stock mufflers.
Personally, the CTE axle back has a nice mellow tone with minimal drone and is never intrusive in the cabin when driving around town or cruising on the highway. It would suit someone looking to add some sound without going loud, the one drawback is the 3 1/2 " tips which some feel is too small for the TL.

Wreck,it will not fit the non-awd,unless you want to mod it.I believe if you treat it the same way the Magnaflow set up is being done it will work, you will also need a reducer for the difference in exhaust sizes,Imo it is too expensive an option to try on the FWD unless you can get it for cheap.

I have some videos on my build thread.

Someone has a cock up their ass today. If I wanted an Infiniti I would have one. What I want on the TL is something similar to the G37, not to loud, a smooth sound, no cabin drone and sounds like it belongs on the car. It doesn't have to be the exact sound from the Infiniti but something like I described would be nice, Nissan did a good job with the stock exhaust on the G37 coupe.

Sorry bud, I was mostly kidding. I know what you mean, Infiniti definitely did a good job. I guess I see it the same as non-BMW cars riding around with angel eyes. There are specific things that make each car manufacturer unique, and the exhaust note being one of Infiniti's

I feel the same about the angel eyes, that a BMW thing. Exhaust on the other hand, you hear Mustangs, Corvettes, Camaros and other V8 cars and trucks with loud exhaust. Since we have V6's we won't get anything nearly as loud as those cars, but a nice clean exhaust note would be great. I know the videos uploaded can't do justice to hearing them in person, so it's difficult for me to decide in which direction to go. I did hear a really nice 3G Type S and even spoke to the guy, but he had some brand I never heard of and when I looked it up they offered nothing for the 4G.

There are Tuesdays meets near me, I just have to find the time to get out there, I'm hoping for a 4G with so,e type of exhaust will be there. After the winter I plan on having the wheels on, exhaust and most likely the lip kit.

Does anyone have the XLR8 or ALTP exhaust set up in the Philly area? I'd love to hear them in person before dropping a G on one.

The Xlr8 may be loud but sounds so clean when rev'd up. Now that sounds like a G35-37 with exhaust.

Great quality video Grigio.

I hope these pics come out ok, first ever that I'm posting in the Zine.
This is my 09 AT Sh-awd with XLR8 full Catback Exhaust round tips, I know a lot of you guys have asked about it.
By the way I'm going to have my front grill and back piece color matched after this winter and also getting the oem lip kit. It's a slow progress for me but I really wanted this exhaust before I even purchased my TL almost 2 years ago.
(Ps: the back piece is currently plasti dipped black with some gloss)
Sorry for the wait Lift3d I've had my hands full.

Unless you're trying to retain the 3rd cat for emissions purposes, then you should really look at our XLR8 V2 J-Pipe which deletes the 3rd cat. It is definitely going to be a noticeable gain in performance over stock. It will also provide a slightly deeper exhaust note, but you're not really going to notice it with the stock exhaust. The V2 J-Pipe is usually the first horsepower mod we recommend to TL owners, as it is a great bang for the buck. The exhaust will provide some power, but it's mostly just for the sound.

*The V2 J-Pipe will not pass a visual inspection as it deletes the 3rd Catalytic Converter*
