Has anyone tried the Osram Xenarc 66240 nightbreaker d2s bulb in their 4G TL?

Title says it all. Also, I'm wondering how much brighter these bulbs are in comparison to the stock HID bulbs. Just curious if anyone has tried them!

Thank you!

Not sure if there are comparison pics or anything, there was a previous thread on this and the poster in the thread only put pictures of the box that the bulbs came in and not any comparison pics. The Xenarc 66240 NB is a 4200K bulb at an estimated 3500 lumens. Stock Philips 85122 is a 4300K bulk at an estimated 3200 lumens. You're probably looking at about a 9% increase in brightness, 3% more yellow.

and take into consideration how much money you will spend vs how much you would benefit from them.. 9% increase.. lol.. rather put hid fogs instead.

If that 9% brightness lets you see a deer that you otherwise wouldn't have, the $100 is a moot point.

HID's in the fog lights are great as long as they aren't 4000K or above. Anything that white will reflect back in fog and make it harder to see.

I've never considered our cutoff lines to be the greatest or our bulbs to be super bright. A lot of members have opted for replacing the projector lens with a TSX-R lens from TRS. I will be considering that if I one day am man enough to open them up. Changing the bulb out won't do too much.

our hid are naturally bright so 9% isnt going to do much.. your eyes cant even see the 9% difference..

its a $100 that would be wasted.. you get more out of hid fogs than just changing the stock bulbs..

I was thinking about them about 1 1/2 year ago and then I went with Osram 66240 d2s cool blue intense. I am glad that I did. Don't waste your money on the nightbreakers!!! The CBI are a completely different ball game. I am extremely happy with them. They perfectly match my 5k morimoto xb fogs and my 5k white amber v3 triton switchbacks. I think I got enough lumens in front of my car that I can drive safely in the fall and in nasty Canadian winter. A lot of info in here:

Jerry are you running the CBI in stock housing or did you mod the housing?

I agree with other posts. If I was looking to do something with bulbs, I would put the money towards lens upgrade as opposed to just bulbs.

I am running stock housing. No upgrades yet to TSX-R lens from TRS.

Hey Jerry,

I'm thinking about the Osram 66240's but is it a significant difference from our OEM HID's in terms of functionality? and perhaps cosmetically?

I already think our OEM HID's are bright enough as it is and maybe I should just upgrade the fog lights. I dunno...

Well the difference is day and night in my personal opinion. Every aspect of CBI over stock is tremendous beside the price of course. When I installed the D2S Osram 66240 CBI on my 2012 TL sh awd, I couldn't believe how amazing they are!!!! The stock HID's are way to yellow for my taste!!!
