I ended up mounting mine on the AC line, which gets really cold. Think its possible that the hot vapor inside the catch can and cold line next to it could cause the glass/plastic to shatter?
Now what else can I do to make my engine bay like JTso's... hmmmm, where's that CompTech strut bar , j/k

just picked up the parts today...
xizor and jtso, did you guys remove the black spiral disc inside, as recommended by the guys at s2ki for better flow?
the thread is here
a direct link to the image here
also, i wonder if the length of the vacuum tubing has any effect on the performance of the catch can?
great post!

I removed the spiral piece as well. And I haven't driven far enough to collect any oil yet, but my hoses are shorter than JTso's.
And Stokeless, you don't like my ghetto rigged zip ties? I'm offended, j/k. The maker of the filter sells a fitted bracket that looks just like the one JTso for the catch can.

Bought all the materials yesterday and noticed on the back of the catch it say something to the affect of not using with synthetic oils, etc etc.... Wonder if my synthetic oil in the car will damage anything.
Other question, did you just get vacuum hose from a local automotive store?

I saw that synthetic oil label too. The o-ring could be the only thing that can be affected by synthetic oil. I'll have to wait and see. If it wears out, I'll just go to the hardware store and get a different one. You need to use PCV hoses. Most vacuum hoses won't come in that dia.

Started thinking more and more about the label and the purpose of the unit... If you think about it, what it is probably saying is that if you use synthetic oils in your compressor system, then the potential for it to by-pass or clog the plastic piece of the filter may occur. Because we take it out, it may not be cause for alarm. Just a thought.

JTso by looking at your picture, your filter looks a lot better then mines. my filter is like brown already. do you think that we can replace the filter and get a better one that will filter our more oil? if so that will be good.

ick, I'd hate to have that thing in my engine bay. at this point, one of the huge Greddy or Cusco cans seems necessary, but do they even have a filter?

Oil is not the only cause of carbon buildup. Fuel is another source. Here are some info....

Hey guys,
I'm about to install the Oil Filter setup. Any last minute comments, cautions, or suggestions? thanks.
(I purchased all the items from AutoZone after few attempts at HomeDepot and another smaller AutoZone)
BTW, Thank you guys for this great information and the "how-to"s!!!
