Do what aaronng suggested and don't forget to turn on the heater valve (via dash control) and let the coolant fill the heater core as well.

Same, had the heater on "hi" temp. I'll give it another go tonight to make certain it's bled/burped/whatever and call it good. Thanks for the help, guys.

Worked like a charm, took about 20 minutes of idling before the lower hose started to get hot and the fans kicked on. Coolant is topped up and all is well. Thanks a lot for the info/advice. This is part of what makes AZ so great.

What temperature did you reach? You can find out by holding "Dual" and "Auto" buttons down when starting your car and then pressing the rear demister button til you reach item #4.

are any of your guys gaskets starting to creep out? Where the air tube feeds into the base of the injector base/manifold, the gasket seems to have creeped out a couple mm. The spot is bathed in oil so I am starting to wonder if it will last.

No problem on mine or my other car which has the gasket since 1998. Are you sure the oil is not from the valve cover gasket leaking?

No probs on mine either, but I don't have the mileage that JTso has with his gasket.

I'm willing to bet oil had either passed by the valve cover or dripped from an oil change.

I actually have an K24A4, that tube at the back of the manifold base seems to be feeding into it, where there is a slight oil leak. The slight leak was already there before installing the hondata img.

I went back and looked at it, the thickness of the gasket is the same, so I think the combination of oil and pressure is causing the gasket to slip out a little. The slippage was stopped by the valve cover. This kind of sucks, but atleast it's not melting or anything catastrophic like that.

Yeah, i'm lucky my company's proxy doesn't block this particular TSX site.

Hopefully we can get JTso to see it too.

Slightly off-topic but it's been mentioned in here a couple of times so I had to ask... what is that plastic cover under the TSX called? Is there a part number for it? Mine got kinda mangled one winter from rocks and ice and was thinking of replacing it if it's not too expensive... oh yeah and to make this post not totally off topic... I'm gonna do the IMG install in a month or 2. Thanks for the writeup JTso

It's the lower engine cover assembly. pn:74111-SEA-E01. Sunndyside Acura has it online for $67.14.

you can kind of see particularly the dirty area how the gasket is basically against the valve cover.

The oil looks like is from the manifold side. Do you have an oil catch can? You should see the oil on my manifold before the catch can! Note the same area as yours.

looking for some technical knowledge about this and also the process of removing the manifold. I am thinking of removing my intake manifold and having it polished over the winter. now the first step of the instructions JTso posted say to drain the coolant. Will the car be fine sitting in storage over the winter with no manifold on if I tape tape the ports shut and also no coolant in the motor. Also I would assume it would be stupid to go through all the trouble to remove the manifold and not switch to the hondata gasket over the oem one. Does switching to the hondata gasket have any negative effects in colder climates. the car does not get driven much in the winter but I do drive it while home on breaks up until November and then again in February to shows. just want to make sure I am not doing anything bad for the engine since being in cold climates.

You are doing all the right things. Definitely use your painters tape to cover the intake ports. Just an FYI, also disconnect the battery so someone doesn't accidently crank the motor sucking in the tape.

No negative effects what-so-ever unless you f up the installation.

Where does the old/stock gasket go?

First of all I want to thank JTso and the rest of you who have taken the time to write and help us all out through your very informative posts.

Now, I didn't want to have to bring this back from the dead but after reading everyones post and searching the web I could not find the answer.

I will be installing my heatshield in a few days and I wanted to make sure where the stock gasket should go. JTso said to keep the stock gasket because it will be re-used but there is no mention as to where exactly to place it. Does it go back against the block? Or does the heatshield go against the block and then the stock gasket between the heatshield and the manifold?

Maybe it will be obvious once I get in there, but to those who have done the install already. Where did you put yours?

Thanks in advance.
