FallenAngel's Acura TSX Thread
Hey all,
Last year I bought a 2005 Acura TSX. I didn't do any mods to it as I was looking to replace it with one which has lower mileage. But it's been a year and I haven't found anything that meets my requirements so I just figured I'd do some work to mine as I've given up hope looking.
Anyway on to the pics...
Only thing I have done so far is the GROM aux/ipod, aspec wheels and LED dome/map lights.
Here is what i'm planning to do this summer:
- aspec lip kit
- coilovers (Tein Street Advance or BC Racing)
- Honda accord euro front grill and rear honda emblem
- rear window visor
- rear lip spoiler
- cold air intake
- some minor body work (rust making an appearance) and 1 dent
If you can help me with any of these parts, please let me know. I'm a motivated buyer. I'm saving performance mods until next year, hopefully a motor rebuild and comptech SC.

I did a front/rear camber kit (HTSpec Skunk2) camber arm kit on my 06 with A-spec suspension+progress RSB after 6 years without one (normal wear/tear). I ended up snapping a rear OEM endlink about week after the install just driving up my driveway. Upgraded the rear endlinks to Fastline Performance adjustable powerlinks from HeelToe.

I guess the point i was making is that the wheels are too wide if you need to stretch the tyre. No biggie, i just find it strange.
Thanks for posting the other stuff, i'm possibly looking a set of mats myself as for some odd reason, our 1st gen came with 2nd gen carpet mats

Will let you know about the mats.
lug nuts order was cancelled because they were on backorder. Thankfully I was able to order them from Eric @ Teknotik along with front & rear stoptech rotors. Eric in case you see this, thanks for all your help. This guy knows his shit.

So over the winter, when I would clean snow from around the wheel well, I noticed something... the front passenger side's wheel is tucked a bit back in the wheel well as if someone rammed the car into a curb. I had the car inspected by a mechanic and it didn't look like anything was actually bent. Any idea on how to fix this?

Now that I have the a-spec lip kit pieced together, it's time for paint! Going to get an estimate on April 17 to have the whole car sprayed and to just have the lips sprayed and fix the rust. I'd really prefer to spray the whole car but I don't wanna spend more than 3k so it might be tough. What should my budget be for a good quality spray?

I did racing pedals from a group buy on this forum on my 5AT TSX when I first purchased her back in 06 (date wrong on camera, also have the metal trim kit).
I was able to find similar racing pedals from Ultimate Pedals for my RDX and MDX I really like. They pretty much have a lot of different styles and finishes to pick from. It took me about 20-25 mins to install myself: Custom Aluminum Vehicle Pedals - ULTIMATE PEDALS

That was the type I got for my RDX and MDX. I like that type a little better than the smooth polished aluminum with inserts on my TSX. If they get dirty, clean up is easy with a soapy brush and cloth towel to dry afterwards. The only issue I've had with the pedals are the inserts pop into each drilled hole in the pedal. My foot occasionally knocks a couple of them out now and then. I just got a bottle of super glue and used that to keep them in place as they popped out on my RDX. On my MDX, I just went ahead and super glued them all in place and none popped out after a year after install.

Picked up another aspec lip kit. This one is in better shape
Now to sell the old one...

So last Friday I started getting estimates for some body work, however because the estimates were higher than what I wanted to spend, I decided to take a look at two TSXs over the weekend. I really liked one of them so I just picked it up. The body has some dings here and there but absolutely zero rust and has lower mileage than my old car.
Only downside is that it isn't carbon grey but I can live with black too
Since I haven't installed any parts yet, I'll be modding this one and selling my old one.

Yeah you're telling me, it's probably never been changed!
So for the EDFC unit for the coilovers, I was thinking of having someone install it for me but it actually doesn't seem too difficult. Only thing I'm wondering is where a good place to tap into the illumination and accessory wires would be. Any recommendations?

Got the front suspension fixed on the old car on Saturday... It was a bitch to do.
Before:
After:
Replaced tranny fluid on the new car, gave it a good wash and installed one front coilover before calling it quits. Ended up snapping a bolt on the driver side... So I ordered a few new bolts from Honda that should be here Tuesday. Tomorrow I will give the front & rear camber kits a shot as well as the rear coilovers. I hate working on old cars - seized bolts drive me crazy!
Sad to say there are no other updates. Too many seized bolts and I was afraid of snapping them off. Going to order new ones from Honda then hopefully get it done next weekend.
I was pretty bummed out, so I did a quick polish and some yard work to calm my nerves.
Also did a test fit with the wheels before cleaning the car. Can't wait to close that wheel gap

What did you have to do/replace to get the tire centered?

I had to replace the lower control arm. I should have taken a pic... The old one was bent. It was noticeable after removing it and comparing it to the new one. The previous owner definitely smacked into a curb or something.

It was a good weekend. Got camber kits, coilovers and wheels done on Saturday.
On Sunday I installed the fog lights, JDM grill and debaged the rear. I'm probably going to put the Acura grill back on, I don't like the way the honda one fits.
Planning on rolling the fenders and getting an alignment this week. Next weekend, hopefully I'll tackle the brakes (DC5 type R calipers with s2k rotors).
For the foglights, I'm having a tough time finding a place in the firewall to run the harness/switch. Any recommendations?

I've decided to sell the Brembo brakes. I will keep them and try to make them work if I don't find a buyer, but at this point I think I'd rather just sell them because I've been looking around and I'm coming up short on parts that'll work.
Stoptech slotted rotors are on
20% tint all around complete
Headlights are buffed
Injen intake installed
a-spec lip kit was dropped off for paint today.
3k HID bulbs came in for the fog lights today. Will hopefully be installing them this week.
The last thing to do will be install the lip kit once it's back from paint and then I think I'm done for this summer.
Time to start saving for performance mods!

I am literally jealous of your TSX right now. I jsut purchased one about 3 weeks ago, and am wanting to do stuff to it.
Previous owner put on
- A-spec wheels
- A-spec lip kit (Minus the left side skirt, it may have gotten damaged and replaced with the stock)
- Metal door foot things that say acura (sorry, I have no idea what to call them)
- Ipod/Aux attachment
What I want to do:
"Performance"
- EBC Ultimax Rotors +Red Stuff Pads
- Weapon R Header + HFC + Injec CAI
- Hondata Reflash
- Lower it, but might have to stick with stock height dueto already scraping in the area where I will be attending college for 4 years. So might go with Koni Yellows for adjustability and set on lowest perch.
Cosmetics:
- Purchase A-Spec Side skirts
- Maybe Depo (JDM Replica Headlights) OR clean/sand down current headlights and get 6k bulbs (I love the light blue look)
- 20% Tint
- All door visors + Sun roof
- A-spec wing
- Plasti dip chrome trim in Gloss Black or Gunmetal grey (Can't decide between what color I like yet, however, looking at your rims , what color are they? )
- Change Rims
- Get Paintless door dent removal done + Paint chip repair
- Full detailing incuding swirl removal
- Fog Lights
This thing, minus the few dings and the side skirt, is in great condition.
2004 Auto with Navi (Nighthaw Black Pearl), and only 100,450 miles + the 1,300 I have put on. I also threw on the viper 5706v, Cargo net, and got a few repairs done.
One thing I definitely can complain about is the damn left side skirt. and there is this gap between the bottom of my headlights and the bumper
I wish I could just order a bunch of parts, I would have this baby looking amazing
One thing I want to tell you about the Nighthawk Black Pearl that I love, is when the light reflects and you see the midnight blue. To me, that looks absolutely amazing in the sun
